I've recently watched the Child's Play / Chucky movies and I gotta say, I LOVE how they combined horror and comedy together, my 2 favorite movie genres! I figured I'd see what everyone else on here thinks, and see which movie everyone else likes.

I like the first two the best out of the series, Look Who's Stalking and Bride of Chucky were good but not as good. I rather dislike the Seed of Chucky easily one of my least favorite horror movies.

Honestly I gotta say Bride of Chucky. I recently watched all of them a couple years ago and liked that one the best.

For me the order goes:

-Bride of Chucky
-Child's Play
-Seed of Chucky
-Child's Play 2

-Child's Play 3

:P

I guess the first one since it's the only one I have seen in its entirety. I have only seen bits and pieces of Childs Play 2, 3 and Bride of Chucky.

x2! My list is exactly the same :D Bride of Chucky is one of those few occasions when the sequel is better than the original. It could have been VERY BAD too. Adding a female doll, the actors they cast...when I heard of it, I thought they just killed Chucky for good. But it was the perfect amount of humor and horror. I always found the first one to be funny, sometimes unintentional funny and I think that's how Bride of Chucky got the ball rolling. They turned it into a horror/comedy that works. You actually root for the bad guys. And when they started fighting, omg, I loved it. Like I said, that could have been a terrible disaster, but they did a fantastic job.

Seed of Chucky took me 2-3 viewings to really like it. Not that I disliked it, I was just puzzled and weirded out by it. It was like suddenly Ed Wood was back and directing that film. It was a very weird movie, but after a few viewings, I really did enjoy it. It was just getting past that awkward stage.

20 years ago on this day, the original Child's Play was released, and 18 years ago today Child's Play 2 was released. Happy birthday, Chucky!

I like all 5 of them. But the first one is really the best!

I met Brad Dourif at Mega-Con a couple of years ago...all I can say is, I rather have met a living, breathing Chucky because he actually scared me. I don't scare easy. But he creeped me out. Like if I saw him on the street walking towards me, I would cross the street to continue walking on the other side. He was tall and he looked like a real serial killer. I am 29, I was too damn creeped out to go near him!

I got to go with Bride of Chucky.

The original is... well... a very effective thriller of a horror film. But the stakes weren't very high. Ever since Slant Magazine mentioned that the original film was very different from what writer Don Mancini envisioned it to be, I can't stop thinking about how compromised the original film is. And I mean as a horror film. The low-stakes thing. I enjoy watching it the same way I enjoy watching a lot of horror movies, just because people are being killed and find themselves in suspenseful situations.

Bride of Chucky, however, is truly all-that-it-can-be. Regardless of how unserious that is, it's still so darn intelligent.
