I was considering picking up a copy of Snow White from rushmydvds.com, the site advertised on the home page of this site, and was wondering if they're reliable. Since it's a Platinum Edition, I want to make sure and get the slipcover with it. Anyone used it?

Snow White didn't have a slipcover.

Amy is right. Plus RushMyDVDs isn't authentic at all. Look at the breakdown of the Product Info (my input is in italic parentheses):
RushMyDVDs wrote:1. Actors: Roy Atwell, Stuart Buchanan, Adriana Caselotti, Marge Champion, Eddie Collins

(this seems about right)
RushMyDVDs wrote:2. Language: English
(the PE came with more than just English on the DVD)
RushMyDVDs wrote:3. Region: ALL Region
(RED FLAG! RED FLAG! The DVD NEVER had an all-region release)
RushMyDVDs wrote:4. Number of Discs: 1
(BIGGER, MORE NOTICEABLE RED FLAG!!!! The PE is a TWO DISC SET and has NEVER been released as a single disc. EVER.)
RushMyDVDs wrote:5. Rating: G
(Okay, are we back to normal?...)
RushMyDVDs wrote:6. Studio: Walt Disney Video
(...maybe...)
RushMyDVDs wrote:7. DVD Release Date: October 9, 2001
(Yup. I think we're good.)
RushMyDVDs wrote:8. Run Time: 274 minutes
(OH JEEZ! WE ARE SO NOT BACK AT NORMAL!!!! The movie is only 84 MINUTES LONG, the run time of 274 minutes was for the LEGAL, ENTIRE 2 DISC PE set, which is clearly not present here)

In other words, AVOID ORDERING FROM THIS SITE AT ALL COSTS. I don't think UD has any control of what spam is advertised on the site, so that's why it's there. If they had any control over this, it would be long gone.

Instead, try finding a used copy from Gamestop or FYE. Gamestop will have it for around $19.99 and FYE will have it for about $35.99. Sure, it's a lot of money but it's worth it, and plus you're guaranteed a legit copy.

Snow White being the 1st platinum editions most definitely had a slipcover unless you bought it at Barnes and Noble, which for some reason doesn't get them. Thank you for the heads up though DisneyFreak, I will not be purchasing from this site.

No, they didn't begin releasing Platinums with slipcovers until Beauty and the Beast, which was released in October 2002, a year after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I can't be certain, but Beauty and the Beast may have been Disney's first DVD to come with a slipcover, and if not the very first, it was one of the first.

Just trying to be helpful, although I think this may confuse you further...

In the US Snow White NEVER had a slip cover - regardless where purchased. It was released in a double size DVD box and not the slim double boxes we have today.

Also, in the UK, and I think the rest of Europe, Snow White WAS released as a single disc but there was an option to buy the 2-disc collector's edition. I have both - the collector's version came in a neat box that looked like a book and contained an excellent illustrated art book, pretty much like the recent European Platinum book releases.

Hope this helps!

Oh, the site doesn't sell legit DVDs :!:

No it didn't.

It also came in a double case that is about 1.5 times the size of a regular DVD case. If you ever see it with a slipcover or in a standard dvd case it is a bootleg.

I would never trust a site that claims to have New, Factory-Sealed OoP DVDs.
