Disney Channel's Interesting Lineup

In the past two months or so, I've noticed Disney began airing their old movies in the middle of the night, and sometimes in the morning/early afternoon.

So far I've seen these showing around 3:00 AM:

True Confessions
A Ring of Endless Light
The Other Me (On tonight)
Under Wraps (tomorrow)

and various other ones. Any idea why? :?

I noticed that too. I'm guessing it's apart of Cable in the Classroom.

EDIT: Here's the Cable in the Classroom schedule. Seems that these movies are just a mystery.

[wagging finger of shame]And why would you - PeterPanFan - be up in the middle of the night, when your lovely school is waiting in the morning!? Teenagers today! They need discipline and a few strikes on the botty![/wagging finger of shame]

:P

Weeps in frustration at the rejoicing that these "old" movies are being shown.

Two or Three AM? Are you sure? I am pretty sure Disney airs reruns of whatever animation failed (Brandy and Mr Wiskers, Dave the Barbarian)

It'd be nice if they aired Dumbo's Circus or even the Mickey Mouse Club with Annette.

slightly off topic: my 9 year old niece watched THE UGLY DAUSCHAND on dvd with me last night and she LOVED IT!

At least I can get her to watch a few of the classics......IF they are on DVD.

I can't say much for Disney Channel -- they refuse to air these OLD real Classics.

No, Julian, my remote has an option where I can see the schedule of shows. And I DVR them. :P

you must either have Satellite or a different Disney Channel. My Guide (though I don't have DVR) says Brandy and Recess and other cartoons, not any movies. I have Time Warner cable.....

I noticed they showed older movies too, but I only noticed this on sundays at about 3:00 AM; I've seen Genious, Jumpship, and the one about the kid who clones himself.

This seems to be happening (used my guide to check a few days in advance) but only on Saturdays and Sundays. This coming weekend is Hounded and The Poof Point. Guess they can't break into the vault and show REAL Disney films.

You know I don't even remember watching any films from the Disney animated cannon aside Aladdin (and it's precisely the one they're about to show again.
Partly because I'm new to this Disney Channel (about 4 years), since I lived in Mexico I got the Mexican Disney Channel...let me tell you something, it is way better.
They actually show Disney films in a regular basis. My friend told me they showed The Little Mermaid on the American Disney Channel a couple of days ago, though.

Anyone remember any other Disney animated films they've shown in the last couple of years?

I don't usually watch Disney Channel, and I'm surprised they're showing Aladdin. I don't usually see DACs on Disney Channel (although I saw The Rescuers on Playhouse Disney a few years ago).

The Little Mermaid wasn't shown on the American Disney Channel.

I thought that, may be he got confused with Toon Disney; he said it was as a promotion for Ariel's Begining so may be he did see it somewhere.

As far as I know, it wasn't on Toon Disney either. Is it possible he's confusing it with The Little Mermaid animated series. Maybe he just saw the name and confused it with the movie. I know the series is on early in the morning on Disney Channel.

It's because of schedules like these that TiVos even have a real market.

If TV channels want people to stop DVRing their shows (and pirating them), they should try showing the good shows when people are actually up!

I looked ahead using my box's schedule and YOU LUCKY DOG, a really cute movie with Kirk Cameron, will be airing Sunday Morning. My DVD Recorder hasn't been working right, but I don't TRUST my cable box (I've had picture problems).....and I really want to record it. :(

Why can't they release it on an official DVD so I can buy it?

And with the time change, I don't know if I'd be able to record this movie properly onto a DVD-R disc, even if I could get a new DVD Recorder by Saturday night.
