What the crap is with the high prices for these DVDs at places like Amazon for 1-Disc DVDs with practically no bonus features?

$21.99?

That's not that bad! I just used an online converter to see how much $21.99 would be in GBP and it came out as £11.95. If a DVD was that cheap in the UK I'd snap it up. You're lucky, we pay £13.99/£14.99 for DVDs here (when they're new that is) which is $25.75/$27.59 (according to the converter).

I thought the 101 Dalmatians remake was alright, but there is no way that I am paying $20 for a barebones release! I am avoiding the two sequels like the plague.

It's more than I've paid for a single-disc barebones DVD release in most cases, that's for sure. Although I'll never understand the price gouging outside the US either.

I agree, the prices are ridiculous. I went into FYE thinking maybe they would be on sale for $19.99 (they usually sell their DVDs for $26.99 and when movies come out they are on sale for $19.99). Of course they were on sale, but for $22.99! I think I'll wait a couple weeks, I'm sure GameStop or FYE will have it used.

You might check Target, I think they still have a 2 for $30 deal on 101/102 right now (with a coupon on the front cover...) Best Buy had a similar deal the week they came out.
