The Little Mermaid 1979 version

In many ways the 1979 version of the Little Mermaid is hard for me to compare it to the Disney version. The Disney version is great and I am very happy with the Disney version. I am also very happy with the 1979 version. It's great to have both versions.
The 1979 version of the Little Mermaid is closer to the book than the Disney version and some of the others versions of the Little Mermaid. I felt like the 1979 version of the Little Mermaid was very powerful and that is has a great story. I felt like this movie really shows the power of true love and sacrifice.
Some of you might want to check out the 1979 version. I do want to tell you that the 1979 version does not end like the Disney version, so some of you may not wish to see this version.

Another thing that I want to say is I believe the dvd cut out about 4 minutes of the movie. So those of you who remember seeing this movie years ago, might find that this movie has been cut.
