Pinocchio R1 re-release on dvd?

Hi together,
I just have a question about the re-release of Pinocchio on dvd in R1: Does anybody know when this will happen? I mean as it is completly remastered and by this time already available in UK, the chances shouldn´t be to bad for a rerelease in R1. But as I read that it will be added to the platinum edition, a release would take years when disney follows the regular release schedule (after 101 Dalmatians in 2007). What do you think about that - does anybody know a R1 release date, at least a rumored one?

Yes, Pinocchio will be a Platinum Disney DVD.
I think it will come out between 2008-2012.
Disney doesn't have a release date yet.
Pinocchio will completely remastered and have many behind the scenes.
Right now in the U.S. it is Out of Print (OOP).
I don't know if it's available in Germany?

Firstly, welcome to the forum Walt Forever.
Groovy avatar.
I have not heard any plans to release it in the US beyond the information you already have there. Where did you get your info, Author Message
MickeyMousePal ? About the extras I mean?
Isn't Germany Region 2? Or can you not import the UK copy?
Actually, isn't the remastered copy available in Germany?

I'm not sure if that is what you want, or you are specifically after Platinum info...

Loomis are you a Green Arrow fan because the avatar looks awesome. Anyway all of the Platium Editions have extras on the second disc so I think it will have behind the scenes, deleted scenes, art gallery and other extras on the disc. Maybe even a new scene I hope not because it will mess up the Pinocchio.
For example Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

thanks,
that doesn´t sound good for the r1 release. Yes there is a r2 release of the se, so I must get that one. I´ve hoped to get it as a part of the platinum edition soon - cause I collect all the r1 stuff. In Germany there isn´t any real collector´s stuff like the Treasure Tins, also lot of the synchronised disney movies don´t sound very good as they are mainly regarded as child-food (unfortunately for the real collector). So I decided to built up my disney-collection in r1 and do only some exceptions with the uk versions (like this one oder the uneditet "Melody Time").

Your welcome Walt Forever.
That's to bad collector’s editions and Treasure Tins are not available at Germany.
I wish they had the unedited "Melody Time" because in the U.S. they have it edited and that sucks.

Yes, very much the Green Arrow fan. I have about 200+ issues (erm...yes, I collect comics

). He is the best. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
As for the Platium Editions, it always baffles me how Snow White can be so good....and
Lion King and
Beauty and the Beast...well....not. I hope the Pinocchio Platinum is more Snow White and less Lion King. That's what confuses me - we need consistency. You mentioned Melody Time - that is uncut in two regions, but edited in its country of origin. Go figure. I think Disney are throwing darts at a board sometimes...

I'm a comic book collector also. I collect Marvel and DC Comics.
Wolverine and the X-men are my favorite Marvel comics.
Batman and Justice League (yes Green Arrow also) are my favorite DC comics.
Spider-Man, Spawn and the Teen Titans are also on my Top List.
I love to see Green Arrow and Green Lantern working together.

I know it's a different GL, but there's loads of GA/GL comics if you check out your local comic shop's back issues. Look for the Green Lantern/Green Arrow combined title of the early 1970's (and feel sorry for Speedy... who ends up living up to his name!)
As for Pinocchio the restoration, while an improvement, is not really an massive improvement over the existing R1 Limited/Gold Collection Edition. Unless you really want to see the 2 "I'm No Fool" shorts with Jimny Cricket, I would recommend you wait for the inevitable expanded R1 release.

Finally Pinnochio is coming out on DVD. I have such fond memories as a child seeing this classic Disney in the theatre when it was released in the 80's. I also loved Jiminy Cricket he was so neat. I own it on VHS but my VHS is wearing out so Please bring this to DVD soon.

Actually (and I know this is getting off topic), the current GA/GL have teamed up in a recent (but not THAT good) crossover by Judd Winnick and Ben Raab. It will probably be collected, as every other GA arc has. The one 2099 mentioned is an abolsutely "must read" collection, even if you only have a passing interest in either character.
As for titles...I collect too many to mention...might start a new off topic thread...
PINOCCHIO ON DVD, WHEN?

I wonder when it is going to be released again. I think it will be as Platinum, correct me if I am wrong. Well, I was just in SHOCK yesterday at a mall in Baltimore, that had at the FYE store a copy, still wrapped, of PINOCCHIO.
Its price was $24. Of course, I bought it. It was the Golden Collection edition. I believe this title is not available anymore, right?
Oh, well, I guess that I will sell the copy of Pinnochio that I had before on ebay, since it is from Region 2 (and here cannot be seen in regular dvd players).

Yeah, Pinnochio's been out of print for a while. I'd like to see a 2-disc special edition like Sleeping Beauty or the Lion King. Does anyone know when Cinderella will be released on DVD? That's a DVD that's on my "must-have" list along with Pocahontas.

I heard that Cinderella is coming out on a 2 Disc special edition set in either fall of 2004 or sometime in 2005.

Cinderella is on the platinum release schedule. They have devised a new plan to release two platinums a year. The platinum scheduled for this fall is Aladdin, Cinderella hasn't been given a release date yet. At the earliest i would say march 2005. I doubt it would come out this spring because we probably would have heard more about it. Could be anywhere fron march 2005- sometime in 2006.

It's my fav film and i've been waiting so long, what's another two years... sigh..
