Personally I'm going to pick Bluray coz if they didn't introduce the new format I wouldn't buy BATB and Sleeping Beauty etc. again on DVD.

I'll be getting them in Blu-ray, though I may also get at least Pinocchio and the Fantasias on DVD. Hopefully they do the all-in-one deal they're doing for Sleeping Beauty.

Well, I know this is a stupid question, but I know next to nothing about Blu-Ray. I was wondering, can you play a Blu-Ray disc on a DVD player? I know it won't be in high-definition, but I was wondering if they still played. I've heard that you can watch DVDs in a Blu-Ray player and I was wondering if it went vice versa?
I'm only asking because I don't plan on getting a Blu-Ray for a while yet and wanted to know if I could still buy Blu-Rays that would be watchable through a DVD player. Sorry if I sound like an idiot.

No unfortunatly you can't, but HD-DVD (Dead Bluray rival format) had combo disks, which had the film on HD on one side and Standard DVD on the other, so if you wanted to play the movie on your dvd-player you just had to flip it.

As of now, I plan on getting everything in DVD format for as long as possible. Even though blu-ray may be the better quality, I don't want my collection to be in two different formats, if only for the reason that I don't like the way they look stacked on the shelves together... I'm so vain, lol

I'm vain too, I hate the way the Snow White cover is, I like to keep my dvds in shelves and that one will never fit along with the Walt disney treasures.
Also I don't like the fact that Fox region 2 blurays can't help but stand out.

Probably DVD, because I don't have a Blu-ray player yet. Although I've heard that Sleeping Beauty also has a DVD copy of the film with the Blu-ray. I might buy that cause I'm sure I will eventually upgrade to Blu-ray in the next year at the latest.
