Definitely not! This is probably the stupidest movie to hit theaters this year.
And I guess the bests "jokes" (if you can call it that) are probably already in the trailer.

Why would a so-called "spoof" disaster movie have skits of HSM and Enchanted in?

The makers of these movies should be shot.

I'm gonna go see it because I see all "Movie" movies. I'm hoping it will be good, but I don't have too high expectations. Starting with Epic Movie, the whole "Movie" franchise went downhill. I liked EM, but not as much as Date Movie (which I liked better than Scary Movie 4). For one, I think there are way too many pop culture references in some of these movies. And what about the spoofs for Disaster Movie? Since when do "Sex And The City", "Enchanted", and "Juno" have anything to do with natural disasters? And if I see one more Myspace or Facebook reference in one of these "Movie" movies, I'll scream. It was somewhat funny seeing it in Epic Movie, but it was kinda dumb when the did it in Superhero Movie. Scary Movies 1 - 3 and Date Movie will always be my favorite "Movie" movies, unless Disaster Movie is a pleasant surprise.

The only good thing about this movie is they got the title right.

I will avoid this like I do with most "parody" movies. Why can't they do good parodies like "Airplane!" or "The Naked Gun"?

Yeah, I know what you mean.

The original Scary Movies were OK, but they started getting dumber as they went along.

And honestly I've had it up to here with the "let's make really crappy PG-13 movies, and then release them "unrated" on DVD" attitude. What happened to the good old days when you'd make an R rated movie that was actually DECENT and didn't modify it at all? All these "unrated versions" are driving me crazy... it's getting even harder to find the OTV! And to make matters worse, look at movies like Live Free or Die Hard where they actually CENSOR stuff in the theater to get a PG-13 rating, then make a big deal out of the unrated version. It's sickening.
</rant>

By the way, I love the Myspace jokes since I absolutely hate Myspace. I laugh every time I see this (from one of my favorite animated shows, Kappa Mikey):

(I had to put it on Google Video because Viacom keeps marking it as copyright infringement on YouTube)

These "Movie" movies just get worse, I assumed they would get better when the writers of naked gun took over. I loved Scary Movie 3 but they just got worse and worse, and so did the actors. I don't find them funny anymore so, no, I won't see this one either.

ok, why would they name a movie like this Disaster Movie? We all just know the name will be made fun of because it will be a critical disaser.

Anyway, why do they keep making these movies? Even thought I hated it, I'll admit Scary Movie was somewhat original the first time around, but it's just getting out of hand. It always starts the same way, everyone thinks it's hilarious when they see the previews and once they actually see the movie they realize they hated it. These people are just feeding off the recent succes of actual films that were taken seriously in the making (yes, i realize that's obvious);the spoof movies are an insult to the cinema. The jokes are plain dumb, unfunny, unwitty, unclever, and just annoying. May be, just may be if they actually cared about telling a story, a well made story, rather than having a bunch of skits pulled together by a main event, may be it would end up decent. The "actors" they hire for these pictures are a huge train wreck grabbing on to fame however they can, they're seriously annoying.

As long as there are stupid people who will pay out their hard-earned money to see this kind of garbage, they will keep cranking them out. As soon as these people realize no one is coming to see their movies anymore they will find something else to goad us into the theater with.

My advice is to calmly avoid this movie like the plague that it is, and go see something else like "Mama Mia", "The Rocker", or take in that third or fourth go-round with "The Dark Knight". Just don't go see this "movie".

You have been dutifully warned.

ok...how's that a disaster-related movie can spoof so many movies that doesn't talk about disaster like "enchanted", "juno" or "sex and the city"?(well...that one I get it :P )

Anyway...it seems like another stupid american movie with so many references to other films and american cliche's that only an US resident would fully "appreciate"...like "meet the spartans"

OMG I'm going to agree with dvdjunkie. The recent parody movies are scraping the bottom of the barrell more with each one. This one appears to have scraped a hole in the barrell & through the floor under it. Please don't see it, you'll just encourage them to make another. This is the time of the year (dog days of August & most of September) where almost no good new movies are released. Kids are back in school & it's too soon for the good fall/winter movies. Plus there is less quality to go around from the wrtier's strike of the past year which will affect the next year's crop of movies. Save your money & buy a dvd. You'll be happier. Believe me.

Pass, pass, PASS! I may check out Traitor or maybe see my fifth viewing for TDK but I refuse to see this crap and am encouraging all my friends to do the same.

Spoof movies can be great. That's what ticks me off about crap like this. It's particularly the guys who made this one, Date Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Epic movie. They suck. They have no sense of comedic timing. They have no business doing comedy. But without spoof movies we wouldn't have many of Mel Brooks' most delightful films. Or remember Airplane? Those guys did it right. A lot of Leslie Nielsen's spoofs are funny too, and Not Another Teen Movie was hilarious. The Scary Movie series has some great stuff in it too, though not all of it. But the guys making this line of films, these particular guys, they just don't know what they're doing (even if they are laughing all the way to the bank, they're probably the only ones laughing over their garbage films). I will give them credit for casting the gorgeous Jayma Mays in Epic Movie though, and putting her in that flowery blue dress that just made her mouth watering (when she first goes to Gnarnia).

Post Naked Gun/late Mel Brooks the spoof films I can recall liking were Scary Movie 1-4, Not Another Teen Movie, and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.

I never saw Date Movie, or Meet the Spartans but I don't care to. Epic movie had a handful of great actors and actresses totally wasted in awful 'comedy' that was beneath anyone who may think 'sex' is a dirty/funny word perhaps including. Another thing I hate are the throwaway gags that are outdated by the time they hit theaters and spoofing things that are not REMOTLY tied to the title of the ‘film’! I hate Mad TV (I’m a SNL man myself) but at least in a single episode of that you may find a chuckle or two. These films have as much laughs as a bag of dead kittens. As for Superhero Movie I'm sure I'll see it at some point despite what I hear because of that hottie Drake Bell and good ol' Leslie Nielsen.

Every time I see a poster or TV spot (not often for this refreshingly but still) for Disaster Movie I groan and hope soon it will all be over. What may be worse are other films are coping the name scheme, in the UK The Onion Movie and The Comebacks and both News and Sports Movie. Also a film I’ve heard little about but have been looking forward to written by many people including Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg and Will Forte and staring Michael Cera and Frankie Muniz among others was changed from a title reflecting the nature of the film to one that barley makes sense. The plot summery of the film was ‘A sketch comedy movie about the joys and embarrassments of teen sex. But mostly the embarrassments.’ As they called it Parental Guidance Suggested while now it’s just Extreme Movie. I hate it! What’s next Old Movie? Christmas Movie? Will Smith 4th of July Movie? We might as well be on YouTube Movie?

I've never seen Meet The Spartans, but I heard it was a lot like Epic Movie, and at one point was going to be called Epic Movie 2. I think you should give Date Movie a shot, because IMO it was 10 times better than Epic Movie.

I actually thought Date Movie was the worst of the bunch. Each one seemed a little better, but still totally awful. This one looks like it could turn out to be the worst of the bunch though.

Waldorf: Well at least the title's correct.

Statler: Ya, I doubt this will be a success even by the film maker's standards.

Both: Do ho ho ho ho!

I would think High School Musical could be considered a disaster, though

I mean seriously, I'm in high school and we don't sing like that, ever! Even our spring musicals look mild in comparison!
