Beards and Facial Hair!

Well i've been sporting a type of goatee for a little while...(yes I know I probably look like an idiot!) but actually wanted some views on facial hair and what people think looks good!

You see so many weird and wonderful designs going on - I mean some you think are ridiculous, like little tufts of hair on the chin or something, but thought it'd be good to hear some views!

So I've recorded a Vlog entry on the matter so you can see for yourself...

And let me know what you think!

Hope you enjoy it and looking forward to hearing comments :-)

Hmm interesting, I think the beard you have now is a good style, but regardless its always fun to experiment with different beared styles.

For myself, my beared is generally in a line that connects from my side-burns all the way down to my chin in a neat line. Sometimes I just let it go and it fills in under my chin, and then I start over and just shave it all off. Like right now lol. Anyways here's a pic of me and what my style of beared is and what looks like when its nice and neat.

actually here's a better view of my beared.

this is back when I had short hair.

Being a girl I gotta say that I love sideburns (if they're not too long) and the look as if somebody hasn't shaven (grammar?) for days is really sexy.
But it always depends on who is wearing the style and whilst some look awesome with a goatee or sideburns others look just like the biggest dork in the world.

Personally I can't stand it if I haven't shaved myself every morning. I feel grubby and uncomfortable if I don't.

It's bad enough if I'm feeling sick and don't bother shaving, or if I'm doing a play and have to shave later in the afternoon so my stubble won't give the makeup lady a nightmare between the matinee and evening shows.

Mmmmm, like Kevin Jonas!!!

I think that a little stubble is sexy on certain guys...other guys, not so much. I'm not a huge facial hair person- I usually think that clean-shaven guys look the best- but some stubble can be awesome. Like Taylor Hanson & Corbin Bleu:

I'm chubby in the face so I like sporting that 2-3 days old stubble because it makes my face appear thinner. However, thanks to my laziness, most of the time I just let it grow and grow until I start to look like a caveman.

Here is a shot of mine (done with a "sketch artist" program that was going around the internet a while back.)

Occasionally, my barber hits me with an interesting sideburn style: They come straight down to the bottom of my ear, then go towards my mouth in a point (kind of like Jeremy88's beard, but a bit higher on my face.)

They kind of look like this:

Even though my friends tell me to shave it, I think I look better with a little stubble. It makes me look older, and slimmer. Plus, I've always preferred stubble. Especially on another guy, I will always choose the one with stubble as opposed to a full beard or clean-shaven one.

Same here.

Perfect example, agree completely.

Since I'm in high school the way I see it, if someone has never shaved before, I consider it really immature. I know that's pretty ironic seeing as facial hair is supposed to make you look more mature. Unfortunately, I had to work up the courage to ask my parents to get me a razor. I know some of you guys probably think I'm so pathetic if I can't do something so simple as that, but think about asking for a razor like asking your parents a question about puberty. It's awkward. And, if your parents are anything like mine, they don't want to believe you're getting older.

So again, if I'm in school, and I see someone with a HUGE mustache, hair on chin, over-grown sideburns, etc... I consider him/her (?! lol, it's happened) immature.

However, on older guys (such as harryd2007, jeremy88 and Super Aurora) I think it depends on the amount visible. If the guy has a full on beard, I would consider him to be very dirty, scruffy, and just... gross (no offense). If it's like the example blackcauldron85 posted of Taylor Hanson (and even Corbin Bleu, to an extent), then it's perfectly tolerable and like she said, even a little sexy.

But honestly, it really depends on what makes you feel comfortable, like SofaKing381222 mentioned.

I like my van-dyke; it covers up my dimple chin which I don't like. I have to keep it trimmed short though cause I can't stand the feel of long facial hair.

Look at it here: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=514798996 as I'm too lazy to upload pics to PB or TP at the moment.

Oh don't worry I know exactly how that is, when I first started shaving I didn't even wanna let my family know that I was. I just went to Wal-Mart bought a pack of razors and shaving creme, and carried on from there. For a long time I use to always have a clean shave, but then after a while I was like "Oh, well lets try a beared style..." since then I've had either a goatee or the style I have now and everybody tells me they prefer me with it, cause if I don't have it I supposedly look so "un-jeremy" lol. Though I'm thinking about the clean look again.

Well I sure hope I'm not in that catagory! lol. Although sometimes I let it go, simply because I get in that "eh, i just don't feel like doing it today..." mood. Then it after that it goes asap! lol.

That's the same as me. I used to shave all the time then I thought I'd give facial hair a try and the rest is history as they say. In fact, I can't stand not having facial hair I always look forward to when it grows back, lol. I feel bare without it especially my upper lip. I don't think having facial hair makes you look scruffy as someone's previously mentioned. I mean, I'm so shipshape when it comes to personal hygiene and things of that nature, as long as you keep it groomed, trim and tidy and it's not growing like some wild yeti, then I really don't see the problem.
