Animated Sequels - Basil Mouse Detective?

Sorry if this has been talked about to death, it's just that I've heard rumours before of a sequel to Basic the Great Mouse Detective (one of my favourite disney films)...and wanted to know if there was any truth in it??
I believe the Dumbo sequel was dropped, and other than the Little Mermaid prequel and Tinkerbell films, haven't heard of any other plans for follow ups to their other animated movies (talking 2D as opposed to Pixar as I know of those!)?
Just wondered if anyone could fill me in!

Hm. I didn't even know there WAS a movie called Basic the Great Mouse Detective.

I know there were quite a many fanatics who wanted there to be a sequel, but I've never heard of any real plans from Disney about one. I enjoy TGMD as well, so a 'good' sequel to that film wouldn't bother me at all.

I remember there being some buzz about a film called....Ratigans Revenge in 3D I think, but I never heard an official comment for it...although I think I may have found it on IMDB though I could have made that up!!
Would be great I think as it's one of the original films which really deserves a lot more credit and so a sequel could be beneficial!

There's no plans for a sequel, I'm afraid. It's just a rumor; a rumor that has a special place in the hearts of UDers old enough to remember the chaos. If you'd like to know what I mean, you can search the forum for old threads about the rumor and experience the <strike>hell</strike> joy we had with it.

I was just waiting for someone to post this....
