Forgive me if this is already a topic, Ive searched a couple of times.

So in disney's animated features, a storybook ending is almost guarenteed. I want to know which ending is your favorite.
For me, its Sleeping Beauty's ending. The music, and the beautiful animation of the couple dancing, as the room dissolves to clouds and blue sky, while Aurora's dress changes from pink to blue, is just fantastic in my opinion.

I really can't decide - they're all beautiful in their own way.

I think your favorite ending is usually your favorite movie. So, definitely The Little Mermaid. It's so sweet, "I love you daddy.", and it kinda ties up the whole theme to me, personally, that you can break free and become your own.

those would be my favorite three endings too,
Cinderella is nice too- the clock (which has been ordering her to get up, and to leave the ball for the rest of the movie) is playing out wedding chimes for her as she runs down the steps.
I think she has a lovely illustration in the book also.

Hm, never thought about how the clock finally does something that makes her happy! Anyway, since she came up with the other slipper that got her the happy ending, it's even better. Add to that all the animals getting new fancier attire like her, and Major pulling the coach and everyone good getting to live happily ever after. I guess we can think that even if the Prince or the Fairy Godmother and the mice helped/saved Cinderella, Cinderella saved her friends and gave them their happy endings, too. The book illustration is beautiful.

Sleeping Beauty's seems more romantic and haunting, though. Perhaps it is better.

Hate to rain on the happiness but this was talked about already in Which Disney heroine do you think had the happiest ending?. But is this meant to be more general, to include all characters?

Every ending is happy thought not magical.
The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty were the greatest I think.
Aladdin whould have been great if Genie didn't had to ruine it with the "Made ya look",that was unnecessary.

This might should be in Polls & Games...(?) Not sure though.

Anyway, the music from TLM's last scene really gets to me--as does the "I love you, daddy." When Triton comes up out of the water, he does so sort of lovingly/playfully (like a father blows on their daughter's stomach or something like that, as a joke) and then they pause there and see each other as people (rather than father and daughter) and realize that the life they had before is over. Maybe it's just sad because it's like she's saying goodbye there. I don't know, everyone wants to be accepted by their parents even if they don't necessarily agree with you.

I also think TLK has a very powerful ending that's nearly as emotional as TLM's. The only old classic that really gets to me is the ending to Pinocchio, because Geppetto is such a sympathetic character.

I suppose Bambi, Pocahontas, TF&tH and Peter Pan all have strong endings, too.

Pretty much all of them.... Maybe Mermaid though.

I seriously crying everytime she says "I love you daddy" for some reason... and it makes it worse when the choir kicks in with "now we can walk".... My god, lemme go watch it.

For me its a tie between "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King".

When I saw "BATB" for the first time as a kid I was seriously devastated when Beast died. I kept saying "He will survive!", "a happy ending will happen, right?" over and over. But when the last petal of the rose fell, and Belle says "I love you", I lost it. I couldn't believe that the movie ended on such a sad note.

But when the Beast's body started glowing and he turns back into the prince I was extremely happy. So happy that I cried tears of joy! I was so moved by the ending that my entire family made fun of me because I reacted so strongly to it.

As for Lion King, the ending is more than happy, its POWERFUL. Really, when Simba starts climbing Pride Rock, then roars to the masses I get chills everywhere. The music, the animation, the mood of it all was perfect. The movie could have ended right there and it wouldn't have mattered that we didn't see Rafiki showing the new heir to the kingdom, because it delivers the conclusion perfectly in my honest opinion.

My two favourite films have the same ending: Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast.

Just silently walking down the stairs, embracing Aurora's parents and then dancing, it's all so wonderful.

Beauty and the Beast's ending is definitely the most powerful imo. Pap's comment above just about sums it all up. The whole transformation of the castle and the characters, it's really a treat for the audience to see everyone in human form, unlike other movies where you just see the characters having fun to conclude the movie. Plus the stain glass painting theme was like a modern version of the books of the older movies. The dance scene looks really croddy animation-wise, but the fact it's straight out of sleeping beauty is fun (they even remodelled King Stephen into Luminiare and King Hubert into Cogsworth!).

A perfect list, although it's missing The Happiest Millionaire and The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band. Pollyanna I think is actually my favorite happy ending, as it's just so wonderful and affects me emotionally more than any other Disney film in that respect.

The Lion King's ending is great.
and yukitora-Beauty and the Beast WAS going to have a storybook beginning and ending like Snow White,Cinderella,Sword In The Stone,Sleeping Beauty,Jungle Book,Enchanted and more.

Enchanted. They all lived "happily ever after".

Enchanted's was great but just end it with Giselle,Robert and Morgan dancing around? (And Giselle looked like a 5 years old with that yellow dress).

I think that simply sums it up.

The Lion King has one of the most powerful endings. It will always be one of my favourite Disney movies.
