Anyone remember this? Cartoon All-Stars to The Rescue had characters from a lot of cartoons in it. I remember Winnie the Pooh, Muppet Babies, Alf, Ninja Turtles, Smurfs, the Chipmunks,...

A very special friend burned me a copy of it for Christmas. My favorite part is the intro with George and Barbara Bush. :thumb:

Yeah, if it was the one I'm thinking of, it was this historic meeting of all the big cartoon characters to tell kids to Just Say No.

I remember it being a big TV event when I was younger, but not much else about it. I think I was into the TMNT at the time :)

That'd be cool to have on DVD...even if it is crappier than I remember...

I also just found these picture from a ZShop on Amazon for them (OOP VHS). Drugs don't stand a chance against these guys! AND I should point out, Winnie the Pooh is at the front. My case for him is closed! He is the coolest. (Actually, try and think about WTP on drugs. Or think about him trying to talk to a junkie...either way is fun).

And a bigger photo I couldn't link directly so go here:

This is just one amazing half-hour special. Who knew that all the cartoons could work so well together?

Some of my favorite things about it:

-Simon recognizing the smell of marijuana
-George C. Scott's performance as the malicious Smoke
-The brief exchange between ALF and Garfield

I have good memories of this cartoon, though I'd probably laugh my butt off if I viewed it now. Speaking of which, here's a hilarious review of it:

I have only seen the scene of the song which was composed by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. It feels dated today, but it still is very nice to watch - I wish I could see the whole thing. By the way, Roy Disney was the executive producer.
