TV Land Awards 2008

Did anyone catch this last night? If not I know it's coming on some more this week. Anyway, about the show, I loved it! The opening song was cheesy and at times annoying, but seen all those classic characters "flying" was hilarious! I was glad to see "The Golden Girls" get honored. It's such a good television show...
I don't know if Mike Myers should have been awarded "The Legacy of Laughs" award. He's been in the buisness for what, 20 or 30 years, and that montage of his roles kinda just pointed out all of them were stupid. And considering that last year Lucille Ball won... Mike Myers seems a bit unworthy. Carol Burnett or Dick Van Dyke would have been better reciepents.
The tribute to Garry Marshall was nice. He deserved it. I liked seeing Julie Andrews in his video montage, too.
Finally, my favorite part was the TV Land parody of current celebs and TMZ. Specifically Vicki Lawrence reprising Thelma Harper. I'm going to watch that again on YouTube.
Now, there is a sad part to these awards. Half the shows they honor aren't even on their network anymore.
Still, I enjoyed it.
