Nice find, jrboy! Hopefully the live-action version of 101 Dalmatians will be released on Blu-Ray, as well. Even though I find some of the Home Alone antics a bit overkill, it's still a good enough movie to own overall, especially if there's some worthwhile bonus features.

Wonderful! I've been wanting the 1996 one, it's the only one I'm missing of the 101/2 Dalmatians series. :)

Sweet! :D I'll definatley be picking up the original live action 101 Dalmatians, seeing as I have the vhs, and could well do with the upgrade! Thanks jrboy!

As soon as I came across the dvd version, I went looking for the blu-ray, but no luck. My blu-ray player came in yesterday, and I'm on a blu-ray high right now. But as long as its released in widescreen, I'll be happy.

Looking forward to 101 Dalmatians as I never picked up that DVD, and hopefully there will be reason to upgrade/double-dip for 102 Dalmatians. It's a guilty pleasure of mine (actually scratch that, I don't feel guilty when I watch it), and the original DVD is rather good, especially given the fact that it's from Disney's early years in DVD. Still, there's room for improvement (a cast commentary would be nice, as would a more focused documentary instead of the seven short featurettes that are on the DVD), but those are doubtful given Disney's attitude toward live-action catalogue releases for movies older than 5 years old.

Great find! I'll be picking up the '96 version of 101 Dalmatians for sure. I haven't seen it in years, though I own the VHS. I've made a solemn vow to never watch it again until I own it on DVD. I figure watching it on VHS will just take away from the experience. I know, I'm weird. :P

Now you got me all excited!

I agree. I'd especially like to hear more about Glenn Close and her relationship with the dogs on-set. I remember hearing her say that they loved her when she was on-set as herself, but it was the complete opposite whenever she was in-character. It was almost as if they truly believed she was Cruella DeVille.

I'm so excited for these DVDs, because both films are 2 of my favorite Disney live-action films. It's interesting and curious that the films aren't coming out in a double-pack.

I had a feeling that these films would get rereleased this year, because of the PE of the original.

Thanks for posting that, jrboy!!!

woo happy late birthday to me!! I own this on VHS and have actually pondered how to get a dvd copy, short of ghetto-transferring it myself, haha :D

I have not seen the live action version in a long time. I remember seeing it in theatres and I have the VHS, but I am not sure if I want the DVD or not.

Ew. The 102 Dalmatians cover is bad even by Disney standards.

Neither of those covers excite me much, but where's the cover for the original live action one?

Close, but the font is different if I'm not mistaken. Also I don't like it as much as the old poster or VHS/DVD cover but after seeing what they did to 102 I'll take what I can get for 101 ('96).

The cover for 101 is okay. It could certainly be worse, and the idea is right on the money. At least its better than 102, which I'll probably skip picking up anyway.
