Well, I was prompted to make this topic in regards to Julian Carter's post in the "Are You Gay?" thread.
Is there anyone here who has never seen a famous movie?
I've only seen one Star Wars movie. I've never seen:
The Godfathers
Citizen Kane
Mrs. Doubtfire
E.T.
Any Indiana Jones
Batman(or its sequels)
X-Men
Brokeback Mountain
Superman(I've only seen Superman Returns)
The Sound of Music
And countless other major films.

I'm a classic movie junkie, so I've seen a majority of a lot of the classic films from the 70s on back. But there's a lot of recent ones I've never seen, and a few classics here and there.
West Side Story
Gone With The Wind (saw parts, but never the whole movie)
The Godfather I and II (again, only saw some parts but never the whole thing)
Brokeback Mountain
Juno
Casablanca (only saw the ending)
The Graduate
Pulp Fiction
I know there's a lot more, but I'll go back and add some when then I think of them.

Harry Potter
Indiana Jones

The Godfather
Gone With the Wind
...that's about it. I've never seen any of the original "Superman" movies as I have no desire to since "Superman Returns" was so God-awful. Of the movies listed, I also hate "E.T.", which bored me out of my skull. I refuse to see "Juno" on principle alone.

I've never seen any of the six Star Wars films through to completion. There are a lot of other "famous" flicks I've never seen, but the Star Wars movies are the ones I get the most crap from my friends about.

I've never seen The Princess Bride, despite really wanting to.
And I wish I'd never seen The Phantom Menace (Attack of the Clones was worse, but perhaps if I missed TPM I wouldn't of had the urge to see AotC). Thankfully, although owning the DVD, I've yet to see Revenge of the Sith.

I feel I've missed on films from the 30s through the 70s. I can't help noticing that the rentals in our house are always relatively recent films. I wanna see old stuff! There's got to be so many gems to be unearthed (but I'm so unfamiliar with older live-action films

).

Princess Bride is fantastic and if you liked Stardust you have to watch the Princess Bride. It' just as charming and magical (just without the witch, the book is even better than the movie)
I love classic movies and have already seen lots of them but I'm still missing a lot too.
I've never seen:
Any of the Godfathers
Citizen Kane
Alien
Pulp Fiction
North by Northwest
Jaws
any of the Batman movies
Clockwork Orange
The Shining
Old Yeller
Schindler's List
Casablanca (I have yet to see the whole movie, I've seen the beginning and the end but never the middle)
Dr. Strangelove or how Ilearned to stopped worrying and love the bomb
It's a wonderful life (again, have never seen the whole thing)
Any of the Matrix movies
Taxi Driver
Driving Miss Daisy
To kill a Mockingbird
Sin City
The Great Dictator (have seen only parts)
Back to the Future
Annie Hall (although I really wanna see this one)
Judgment at Nuremberg
The African Queen (have proably seen it when I was little as my mom loves it, but can't remember watching it)
The Exorcist
Poltergeist
Ben Hur (never the whole movie)
A streetcar named desire (Stella!!!!; really wanna see this one)
Roman Holiday ( )
and more, but that's some that I saw on imdb's Top 250 list that I've never seen.

Oh, I guess also I've never seen "Annie Hall", but I generally dislike Woody Allen, so that probably won't happen either.

I hope you don't mind if I might make a few suggestion of movies that you might be interested in.
I'm not sure if you like suspense/thriller films or not, but I'm a huge Hitchcock fan myself, and there are so many great thrillers/suspense films he's made that I think are terrific. A few of my personal favorites if you get the chance to look for them is Shadow Of A Doubt, Strangers On A Train, The Man Who Knew Too Much (the 1956 remake), North By Northwest, Psycho, The Birds, and Frenzy. (Wow, I just realized how long that list is

). Also, another one of his films that I really love is The Trouble With Harry. It's not really a suspsense film, but a black humor British comedy if you like that.
Also, speaking of classic comedies, one of my favorites, but don't know if it's as well known or not, is Murder By Death. It's a great murder mystery comedy written by Neil Simon with a lot of famous comedians and actors from the 60s and 70s like Peter Sellers, Peter Falk, Maggie Smith, Elsa Lanchester, Eileen Brennan, Truman Capote, and others.
And if you really like movie musicals, I really recommend looking at The Music Man, My Fair Lady, Singing In The Rain, and South Pacific which are a few of my favorites as well.

I have never seen even one Hitchcock film
PPF! I have to admit, though, that I feel I need to at least see
Psycho and
The Birds - the former for its fame, the latter for its special effects work by Ub Iwerks (who should be known to everyone on this site

).
I haven't seen much movie musicals either. I have seen
My Fair Lady, thought it's been a very long time. The music is lovely, but I wish
Mary Poppins beat it at the Academy Awards. I'm such a biased shit.

I've never seen a Hitchcock film, either. Although my grandpa owns two of the Hitchcock DVD sets, so I may borrow it sometime.

Citizen Kane

The list can go on forever.

Hitckcock is really good. You should give at least these a try: Psycho (most famous shower scene ever), The Birds, Rear Window (my favorite) and North by Northwest (of which I've seen only parts but what I've seen was good

)
Hitchcock is not really scary it's more this feeling of suspense and eerieness tht makes the Hitchcock movies so great. And look for his cameos as he's in almost every film.
I can't believe how many people have yet to see "Gone with the wind"! Of course it's long (3 1/2 hours), but so worth it. Vivien Leigh's performance is one of the best ever and it has everything a good drama needs and some of the most memorable lines in movie history.
Its classic status alone justifies at least one viewing to understand how it changed the way movies were made.
