Another Cinderella Story (TRAILER!)

I just heard this movie was coming, and since I liked the first one (with Hilary Duff), I wanted to know about it and googled. The story sound a little bit...strange, I think. This story is basically a sequel to the first version, A Cinderella Story, but without the girl Sam and her 'prince' Austin, and new characters, who have nothing to do with the first one.
Here is the story:

It all centers on a girl, Mary Santiago (Selena Gomez), who lives with her stepmother- and sisters and meets a guy named Joey Parker (Drew Seeley) at a masked ball. They dance and fall in love, but then she then drops her ipod( :?: ) while rushing out. Though the guy has no idea who she is, he wants to meet her again. Jane Lynch (Dominique) plays the evil step mom, and Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle (Britt and Bree) are the evil step sisters. Marcus Paulk (Dustin) is Drew Seeley's best friend and Jessica Kennedy (Tami) their classmate. The last main character is Nicole LaPlaca (Natalia) and she plays Joey's jealous ex-girlfriend.

WTF....her Ipod???
What is he going to do?
Listen to her favourite songs?

Here a video of the 2 main actors dancing:

This looks a little bit better!

Here's the cover:

What do you all think about this movie?
Whould you watch it?
I think I give it a chance, if just because I liked the first one (and the original Cinderella story offcourse! ).

The only reason I ever watched the first one was Jennifer Coolidge--she's hilarious. She actually did a pretty good job as the "evil" stepmother, though she didn't come off as intelligent as Lady Tremaine (I know they weren't trying to make it a direct ripoff of Disney's Cinderella, it's only a statement).

Still, Drew Seeley? I doubt I'd ever watch this one.

"<picks up ipod> EEWWWW this chick listens to emo music! Forget her!"

or for us Disney fans

"But sire this ipod with this playlist could belong to any number of girls"
"That's his problem!"

I'll put this film on the "most likely to get a rifftrax" pile.

As dumb as making another movie like this is, I think the ipod idea is not dumb at all.

I mean, if you think about it, isn't trying to find a girl based on her shoe also pretty dumb? Of course, it's all the prince had, and the footwear, as well as the foot size, was unique.

The reason the ipod is not dumb is because we all know how important music is too us, and how much it has to do with us. We ask people what kind of music they like to find out more about them all the time, it's one of the most popular questions and is often one of first questions we ask a new person. By listening to the kinds of songs she likes, with lyrics that the girl feels resonate with her own life, her own soul, it will give her prince an idea of who she is, and if she likes some of the same music he likes, it will make him feel like they are like each other and should be with each other.

It's actually not dumb.

Yeah,he"ll listen to her song and a girl who listen to emo music will be his bride.
They"re making a sequel? someone is bored?.
It is stupid,a magical shoe who fits one speical girl is way different then finding someone's Ipod.

There once was an episode of "Boy Meets World" where Shawn finds someone's purse, and through that purse he learns what this girl is like. He's intent on finding out who the girl is because he's, for lack of a better phrase, "fallen in love" with the girl based entirely on the contents of her purse (it had stuff like a classical CD, a good book, etc.).

So an iPod isn't that far a stretch.

The reason why the ipod sounds stupid is because of how long it's been out. Shoes have been out for centuries, thus Cinderella was able to be a classic. With the ipod, it has only been around for almost a decade. In the future there might be something new that replaces the ipod and this film will not be able to test time.

But its not supposed to last the test of time. It's already a version of a story which has stood the test of time. It's like Scrooged, or Romeo + Juliet or Clueless.

I honestly thought that logo was real. I just thought you put you're name on it to show ownership (like UD does with DVD covers). It's a very good job.

Not really, it has to do with the popularity of Disney Channel musicals, I think. And the fact that they're hitting the Disney Chanel crowd (Selena Gomez and Drew Seely), it makes sense.

And the simple fact that it's a musical does entice me... I might just see this.
