The day I find someone knows what "The Original Doll" is, happens to be a good one. And let's hope so. I'm not TOO happy with the cover, but it is really pretty. I do feel like she does all these cool things on her videos and yet her album covers can feel very "13 year-old girl glamor shot", you know? Femme Fatale is a very good title, I wonder if she's singing Sky Ferreira's Femme Fatale song, since she has been heavily rumored to wite a track on that album.

What's mysterious and dangerous about her?rs_milo_whatever wrote:She's a beautiful and sexy woman, she's also mysterious and exudes danger; that's what a "femme fatale" is.
Wow, so wonderful to see a grown up discussion happening here !
And cheap shot Super Aurora, very cheap indeed.
Anyway, back on topic ...
rs_milo_whatever, I kind of see what you mean about the covers; I've just accepted that as what Britney likes, you know ? I hate the cover for Blackout, but I LOVE the booklet; that certainly was femme fatale ! What do you mean about Original Doll though ?

I'm not speaking as a fan, since I usually defend celebrities who I don't like when whey go through rough patches, but that is really a low blow. I've had my times when I wanted to shave my head and beat a car with an umbrella, multiply that by the fact that she is Britney Spears and you understand the meltdown. Besides, if you really consider her hair and shape to be what made her attractive, she's got them back... like three years ago. Honestly, I've had it with the Britney hate, you may have your grounds, but I think she has nothing left to prove, love her or hate her, she doesn't mind.
And yeah, back on topic:
She is set to heavily promote on the next couple of weeks, with at least one TV performance on the way. I'm excited, now that she's back with her old choreographer she should improve her safe arm moves that she did during her Circus era.

I get what you're saying and you have a strong point. I also think celebrities need to be defended - but it's not like we're talking about the harrassment by the paparazzi, which really is a problem. We're talking about a girl who has had some serious brat moments. I read a very detailed article once where she was supposed to give an interview. When the people got to her place, she refused to sit down and talk. She did a million other things- almost none of them were related to any kind of work. She kept the people waiting forever and didn't consider anyone else but herself.rs_milo_whatever wrote:I'm not speaking as a fan, since I usually defend celebrities who I don't like when whey go through rough patches, but that is really a low blow. Now, sure there may have been some embellishments there and some can choose not to believe it entirely. But I did believe it. Not to mention there is some truth to all the jokes people made about her slovenly appearence, etc. Of course- all I'm talking about here is how believable this "Femme Fatale" label is. Only her loyal fans could believe that. And hey, I adore Blackout and at least 60% of Circus. But even then, she didn't create a character who could get away with being called a "femme fatale." A pole dancer is just a working girl. Flashbulbs in a person's face and makeup doesn't make a person mysterious. Not unless you envy the spotlight somehow. Nor do rumors and gossip, no matter how extravagant.
Anyway- I actually do look forward to the music. Since it's still gonna be godknowshowlong until Lady Gaga's newest comes out.
It's just that title I can't stand. It's like her and her friends were throwing around ideas and when Basic Instinct came up- the only thing about that movie they could remember was the leg-crossing scene. Then, they said: "Britney can do that." I'm sure she already has. Nevermind all the stuff in the film about psychological manipulation and the mastery of women using mens' egos against them.

And- grown up? We're talking about Britney Spears. She's not grown up. Although she's older than I am, she exudes even less maturity and intelligence than most of the Emoticons on this site.

While I thank you for understanding (and forgive you for making Britney a waiting utensil until GaGa comes), I must warn you that you aren't really keeping up. That interview incident must have been years ago. I like to believe that she's almost back on her feet, the only reason she isn't really working anymore with promotion (and possibly not even touring), is because she'd rather be a mom now. I really won't hold it against her, her legacy won't give her the love of her kids. I don't know, may be it is because I am speaking as a fan, but as a fan I can tell that she hardly cares about the business and what people say about her; it's all about her kids now, meaning she won't try to PR herself out of her Blackout moments. Basically the Circus era was her big PR stunt, whoever welcomed her back then, is the audience she cares about now.

That's even more discouraging to the facade of this album title. "Mère Fatale"??rs_milo_whatever wrote:I must warn you that you aren't really keeping up. Suppose to be a joke.
I really don't care much about Spears.

Loved her new single and bought it on iTunes. Will get her new album on CD. Her singles (3, Womanizer, If You Seek Amy etc, etc) are the best!^^

I don't understand, MTV aired a version free of product placement and I just bought a version that is FULL of it. Sony I don't absolustely dread, Radiance I expected (though not as much), but PlentyofFish.net made me angry. I thought it was awkward on Telephone and We R Who We R, but this was just too much.
Other than that, I actually grew to love the choreography even though it wasn't what was promised. It feels like Sharpay Evans gone pop star. The fight scene was amazing I wonder just how much of it was Britney herself. That Jonas director guy really relies on the fast paced editing, which I don't like, but his symbolism was very striking. The massive impact of Britney, the overexposure, (would the lips represent the lip-syncing?) the comparisons to her younger counterpart, the struggle between her private and public life, the rise to fame the downfall, and ultimately the comeback. It has it all
