The Legendary Miss Britney Spears
I got into Blackout right away. I like the shameless streak to her music there. It's like she didn't care what anyone thought of her. Even though her actions leading up to that album were anything but exemplary, that attitude was very inspirational and worth taking note of. Most people can't change their past so it's better to accept it with a sneer, ride it out, and then forget about it later. After a person has moved on. Not to mention "Why Should I Be Sad," "Radar," "Heaven on Earth," "Freakshow," "Piece of Me," "Perfect Lover," and "Hot as Ice" are excellent tracks.
For her to even have the courage to name her album after a dark period in her life was a move that showed she could get over the Kevin Federline disaster-spree. It's just that "Blackout" was kind of like blaming the things she did on everyone else. Instead of accepting that she's become a public black-sheep. One album a year later doesn't snow-up her coat again. She's got a lot more scrubbing to do before she can finally come clean of her skank-days.

I just noticed that I typed "Breakout" instead of "Blackout" in my last post...but you knew what I meant. (Breakout is a Miley Cyrus album.)
I like all the tracks on Blackout now, but at first, only about half the album really grabbed me. But the more I listened, the more I really liked all of it.
I agree- her attitude, especially "Piece of Me" is great- it shows that she's human, and not some pop-machine robot.
I don't think it's so much about releasing one album a year to snow-up her coat, but more about just getting her life back in order. That's why I mentioned earlier about her doing what she wants to be doing. Hopefully she's enjoying working again and hopefully she's a lot happier than she was a couple years ago. That's the most important thing.

Wow, you listen to Miley Cyrus? I'm sure you won't take that the wrong way, but I only know 1 song of hers out of a few dozen I'm sure are out there.blackcauldron85 wrote:I just noticed that I typed "Breakout" instead of "Blackout" in my last post...but you knew what I meant. And I agree with you about Blackout. At first, it was just a wash of quality club dance sound with "Heaven on Earth" as the only real standout because it was retro. But that's only because I didn't finish the album. Had I heard the wonderfully passionate and acidic "Why Should I Be Sad" that first time, I'd have sung her praises from the rooftops with a boombox blasting the song.
Good looking-out on her part. Everyone knows I'm better for the harsh-truths side of things. But I'll bet you that even she doesn't think of her life in those terms. She's actually an incredibly lazy person. Perhaps that comes from being burned out on all the strenuous touring and performing that sent her into a whirlwind of insanity from 1998 to 2004. That's a long time to not be able to live like a normal person. Especially at such a young age. But she needs to take control of her image and her music and her life if she wants to move on. And she's clearly not being allowed to do that. Circus is a step back, not a step forward. As it stands.blackcauldron85 wrote:I don't think it's so much about releasing one album a year to snow-up her coat, but more about just getting her life back in order. I guess it comes down to whatever contracts she and her managers have signed. Her life is no more now than the image we're allowed to see.

On November 10th, Britney Spears will release her new greatest hits album, The Singles Collection, with 16 of her past hits all remastered and her brand new single “3.” A deluxe box set will also be released on November 24th. Instead of one or two discs, the box set comes with cd singles for each track including the original artwork and featuring either a b-side or remix and also includes a bonus DVD with all of her music videos (except for Boys) and an accompanying booklet of iconic images and never-before-seen photographs. Here’s the artwork for both releases and the track lists, with a disc breakdown of the box set.
Does anyone know why the Boys video won't be included? Does it have something to do with Pharell or Austin Powers?

You got it! They weren't able to get the rights because of Austin Powers. It doesn't make much sense though, because it's on the Greatest Hits: My Prerogative DVD.blackcauldron85 wrote: Does anyone know why the Boys video won't be included? The 3-day countdown to the “3” video premiere starts NOW! Here’s the deal: During the next 3 days, Britney will launch her video through a series of Twitter-focused events, culminating with the “3” video “Premiere Tweet” on Day 3 — Friday, Oct. 30. Are you in?
Day 1: Photo Release
Three never-before-seen photos from the final “3” video will be released via Britney’s official Twitter today — one photo will be sent out every 3 hours. Triple fun that way.
Day 2: Video Challenge
We will release three 5-second clips of the “3” video starting tomorrow morning — one clip will be sent out every 3 hours via Britney’s Twitter. The clips will be sent out of order and will be available as downloadable .mov files on Britney.com. B fans will be challenged to piece together the three clips to form a 15-second video teaser. Now are you game?
Day 3: 3-Day

Underwhelmed because of several things:
1. Are her legs too heavy to lift because she never uses them when dancing anymore, in other words- what's the point.
2. For a song about threesomes, not enough groups of three (if there were any at all, I am not watching it again)
3. If non-celebrities can have great hair, why cant she? I mean surely she could leave the extensions out if the end result is what we see in the video. Awful.
4. Since when is sin a bad word, Jesus (see what I did there) most of us do it everyday!

I'd be lying if I said my heart didn't stop for a second after reading "Britney Spears Shot," but then I read "Annie Leibovitz," and a lightbulb went off in my head...

Small bit of Britney news .... an old, 'new' demo just leaked, from the Blackout recording sessions; 'Dramatic'.
The song was previously released through Heidi Montag, who recorded some vocals over Britney's, and leaked it to the radio. Britney had no knowledge of this.
But, here is Britney's original recording, as it would have been if it was added to the Blackout playlist
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIUzj8Ix ... r_embedded
I really like it ! Its so different .... and wierd ..... and so very Blackout ! But also, think I am a little starved for Britney music right now as well !

Wow. Just wow !!
I am so impressed with the clothing !! Not sure how much she 'designed' herself, but its clear she had a lot of input with it, as the clothes are all things I can totally see her wearing ! It has her own style all over it !
The commercial is cute too .... very beautiful in it love how she says, "you wanna piece of me?"
