I really hope this movie turns out good. I think Downey was a good choice for Tony Stark/Iron Man.

If Iron Man makes a good amount of money on the opening weekend we might see an Avengers movie in the near future.

My boyfriend absolutely wants to see it so I'll go with him!
I've only seen the trailer once and I don't remember it. But I usually like this kind of movie so it will probably be worth it!

I saw the trailer, and it didn't really interest me. I doubt I'll be seeing it.

Advance screenings for this big summer blockbuster will begin Thursday night. Check your local theater for times. Here in Wichita, there are two shows beginning at 8 pm, with the second showing at 11:30 pm, in one theater. Then there is another theater showing "Ironman" at 10 pm with a second showing in another theater in the complex scheduled for 11 pm. All in all here in Wichita we will have 10 screens showing "Ironman" beginning at 8 pm Thursday night.
Really looking forward to this movie. Robert Downing Jr. looks to be the right person to play this role. The new trailer really looks impressive.

Well, he'll certainly be able to act the "addiction" aspect of Tony Stark's personality (if they do in-fact being up the alcoholism at all) but I'm a little perplexed by his casting (and Paltrow as Pepper) to be honest. I seem to remember Robert's a little short. Of course, all the suit scenes are pure CGI, so perhaps that doesn't matter.

I could care less about Iron Man as a character, but when Robert Downey Jr. was announced as the title role, I became intrigued. When they used the actual song "Iron Man" in the trailer, I was sold.

Some friend eight years my senior asked to see this movie with me on a date, and I honestly don't care two hoots about superhero flicks. I'll give you my review this weekend, regardless. Hopefully I can be entertaining in doing so.

Prudence, I think Iron Man will have more of a "Top Gun" vibe about it than "Superman". It looks like it will be quite (non-party) "political" too in many respects. I certainly have hopes it will be a cut-above most superhero films.

I agree that Robert Downey Jr. is a perfect choice for the role. He's got that whole playboy vibe going on but he's also a great actor..
haha, have yall watched the actual promo on the MTV
website for the Made thing they are doing for Tony Stark? The kid on it is such a nerd.. it does look really cool though...

Well, that sounds a lot more like something I would like, so I'll keep an open mind.
IRON MAN ROCKS

Just got back from seeing it at a sneak peak at the local theater....apparently there was an 8:00 sneak peak announced at the last minute for Thursday May 1st.....
I am going to say one thing... Watch the end of the credits because there is a scene at the end of Iron Man Credits... But it is worth the wait....
Big spoiler for the end scene at the end of Iron Man credits...
So it appears Darthprime is right.... an Avengers movie is in the works since this happened
Tony Stark walks in to his home after the big announcement that he is Iron Man
someone in the dark of his house says (So you think you are the only hero around Mr. Stark
Tony Stark: Who the He** are you..
Light comes on on mysterious someone being played by Samuel L. Jackson with an eyepatch: The name's Nick Fury and I wanted to talk to you about The Avenger Initiatitive...
Fade out
Now who wants to bet we won't see a simalair thing with The Incredible Hulk Movie

Awesome news disneyboy20022! I had read about that scene. Glad to know it did make it into the film, but at the end of the movie a lot of people will never know about it. I'll make sure to stick around to see it. Spoilers about the scene below...
Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury. This is really going to end up like the Ultimate Avengers. This is exciting, and I can't wait to see how all of this plays out. Tony Stark is supposed to be in The Incredible Hulk movie. I'm sure the scene will help setup this Avengers movie more (If one is going to be made), and not just be a random cameo.
I probably want get by to watch this until Monday, but I got news from one of my friends who went to see it that has increased my excitement for the film. He is a big Spider-man fan and said Iron Man might have been a better movie overall than Spider-man. In my opinion hearing that from him makes me think that they got the Iron Man movie right.

Book??? Do you mean a Book Adaptation of the Movie.... because Iron Man (as far as I know is a comic Book)
Or are you talking about The SpiderWick Chronicles Movie because that is the only book I can think of that is in theaters......

They got the Iron Man movie more than right. It's my honest opinion that this is, arguably, the best Superhero movie ever. I think I may have to watch Batman Begins again soon just so I can compare the two in close proximity, but if it isn't number one, it's number two.
