We've known Fantasia was added to the Platinum Edition line-up for ages. :P

And I think there's a mistake in that reply. Fantasia 2000 should not be a Platinum Edition. More likely it will be rereleased in a super duper 2 disc set to support Fantasia's Platinum set.

That was confirmed in 2003 when 4 new titles were added to the Platinum Edition line, "Fantasia" being one of them.

Ha ha! We know you meant Fantasia/2000, but either way, the tie-in was inevitable. Just like The Jungle Book 2 came after The Jungle Book's PE release, and Return to Neverland came after Peter Pan's PE release, etc. and so fourth. You get the idea.

I wonder why Pocahontas 2 was not given a re-release after the Pocahontas 10th Anniversary Edition was released ? All the other sequels seem to be getting re-releases... strange isn't it ?

Wish there was Fantasia 2006. :( Were One by One, The Little Match Girl, Destino and Lorenzo really developed for it (when it was still not yet canned)?

If so, I think they're odd pieces for Fantasia seeing as they are not all set to classical music. Or perhaps they were thinking of evolving the concept of Fantasia, and not remaining strictly attached to well-known pieces of music?

Although I really loved Fantasia 2000, it really is WAY to recent for my likes on the Platinum list >< I know it's attached to Fantasia, but does that mean reduced bonus features? Plus the cover is going to be all anthology-like and not very fantasia at all....

The list is odd though, it's not quite Alphabetical order as Sleeping Beauty is placed before the P-movies...

They might as well have released Lilo & Stitch as platinum seeing as the 2-disk special edition is so sought out for.

because 1 Pocahontas was PLENTY... lol

And if the original wasn't bad enough, the sequel was truly an abomination

Yes, I think they made a mistake. Fantasia/2000 will not be on the Platinum list, that we know of.

No, it will NOT be on the Platinum line. I think the forum members were referring to a tie-in release of Fantasia/2000 shortly after the Platinum Edition release of Fantasia. Like other Disney Animated Classics that were released on Platinum Edition, with their sequels being released shortly after.

While I think that it wouldn't fit in with the format of the Platinum Editions, who's to say that Disney wouldn't have Platinum Edition set with both movies in it? This definitely could've been a mistake on the part of the BVHE cast member, but maybe it wasn't...?

There WAS a set with both movies in it.

And if they do make a PE, there will most likely be some problem with it... I have yet to see one actually good PE (well 101 Dalmatians and Snow White weren't bad). Pretty much all the rest have some problem (censorship, tilt-and-scan, Disney Home Theater Mix (which is the worst thing you can do to a movie, it makes all the vocals sound unnatural and too drawn-out) etc...)

Hercules' GCC release was great, other than the lack of special features.
Fantasia will be coming soon from DisneyUnvaulted, the group I helped start to release unedited and original aspect ratio Disney classics :D

pocahontas deserves it more than fantasia 2000 (IF its really included!)
fantasia 2000 is good but its all about water water water! almost all segment features water! WATERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

True, Fantasia 2000 contains a lot of water! Just look at the segments "Pines of Rome" " Pomp and Circumstances" and " The steadfast tin soldier" and these were just the new segments. Of all the segments of the original to be included Disney also choose the most watery: "The sourcerers apprentice"
Something I notice often occurs in the original Fantasia is a lot of yawning and sleepiness. The only two segments that do not contain such a scene are "The rites of Spring" and naturally "Toccata and Fugue in D-minor". :P

I know! The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules are probably the two movies I want the most on Special Edition at the moment. I could have done without the 45th Anniversary Sword and the Stone, thank you very much.

Not fair. :x
