Enchanted True Love Edition DVD & Blu-Ray Press Release

Got this in my inbox today from WDSHE representative Lirpa Loof. She's never sent me a full press release (I've done the mechanics like bold and underline so it looks like the UD kind), usually I just get standard replies like "thanks for the e-mail, we will forward this to customer service" and whatnot. I guess all my weekly e-mails with detailed Disney DVD bitchings and moanings finally paid off and they decided to do a decent release after all. Still, it's not much, just an additional commentary, the Target doc, a few new "Fantasy Comes to Life" featurettes, and other standard DVD features.

Oh by the way...

April Fools...

Yeah, yeah...you probably already figured it out. There's no way a WDSHE rep would just send a press release to a regular Joe! And Disney's two-disc sets as of late have been particularly shoddy anyway, so I doubt even this good-but-not-great 2-disc set would ever happen anyway!

When I clicked this, the only reason I thought it might be true was the DVD title. :P

When I saw theatrical trailer, I knew it was an April Fool's joke. :P

Really nice try, though.

Yep Lirpa Loof has been used one two many times.

And everybody knows Canadian and US pricing are the same now.

Darn April Fools Day! I didn't notice the white text until I started reading the replies. Good one, Albert! :P It's time for bed, so I wasn't thinking about April Fools- congrats, you're the first and only person to April Fool me this year!

I was going to say, WTF, I'm mad, I want a 2-disc, but now that I know that you were kidding... :P :P :P

Hehe, yeah, I wanted to do a cheesy edition title to make it more realistic.

(and how said is that? A cheesy edition title to make it more realistic!)

Yeah, I threw those hints to show that it's definitely a fake (of course, the mere thought of a Disney two-disc is enough for anyone to think it's a fake!). The trailer was one of them, Lirpa Loof is another (obvious) one, and the Canadian pricing is the final one, that Mr. Toad was quick to point out!

Aw, thanks Ames! Glad to know I did a "safe" April Fool this year that didn't have any longterm repercussions!

Go to Target and get it then! :P

I had a feeling this was way too good to be true. I guess I must have missed the Lipra Loof. Thanks for getting my hopes up, Escapay.

Escapay, you got me! Only the comments afterward calmed me. When I read it I was soooooo pissed that I just bought the widescreen DVD with bonus disc! What a relief it was fake!

And you know, this really would have been a good 2-Disc DVD...without the crappy title! I loved how they still touted the old features like no one had heard of them before on the recent DVD!

Yeah! You got me too! Dag nabit lol. :p
But I love your imagination! You really need to work for Disney. :)

I'm so glad to see everyone's enjoying my joke (except MerXan! I'm sorry I made you cry!)

*rubs hands together evilly and laughs maniacally, then yelps sillily as he realizes he can use the Mr. Burns emoticon*

:excellent:
Ames wrote:But I had a Best Buy gift card...so I got 2 free books...!
Books, schmooks! The half-hour documentary on the Target disc is worth buying the movie again!
Mike wrote:crappy title!
I'm especially proud of the crappy title, and I wouldn't put it past Disney to actually use it! :P

(Though, of course, Disney if you're reading this...DON'T use any crappy title. A simple "Special Edition" will suffice. Really, it will.)
Matt wrote:But I love your imagination! You really need to work for Disney. :)
Thanks! The two-disc here is actually just a huge cutdown and modification of the fake one I wrote in the Ultimate Disney DVD/Blu-Ray thread.

Clickety-Click

Of course, now I want to revisit that and change/add/remove some things (since I wrote it before I bought my copy two weeks before the DVD came out)!
