I have to say that I've only seen a smidge of this film, but I have it DVRed so I'll watch it eventually. Though with 11 Academy Award nominations, I'm sure it must be a pretty good film.

Never judge a movie by the amount of Oscar noms it gets.

Gangs of New York is pretty good, a bit violent, and perhaps a half-hour longer than it needed to be. As usual, it's DDL's performance that ultimately makes the movie worth seeing.

hey it comes out on my birthday , I picked up the dvd last year when it was on sale for $5.

One of my favorites of the recent decade.
