you know when this song is stuck in your head and you don't know what it is and can't find it? and it just itches for so long?

well this is sort of like that only weirder. When I was younger, I had a cassette with Disney songs. Including a song called 101 Dalmatians. Extremely catchy song.

I lost the tape. Tried to find the song. Well, it's not in the movie, not on the soundtrack. My last hope was the Platinum Edition. And it wasn't on the deleted songs section either. I had given up hope. Thinking I had made up this song.

untill today. It feels so good knowing I'm not crazy, the song exists and I can finally scratch my itch.

apparently someone else was having the same problem (though he had been looking for it since the 60s  ) Anyway, this catchy tune was written for the film by Walt's request, but someone high up lobbied to get it out of the film.

It was written by the Sherman Brothers, wich does not surprise me. So it's good to finally hear a bit of the song again. But now my big question, why was this not on the dvd? heck why is this catchy tune hidden from the public?

is this the song:

(deep voice) one hundred and one (bark, bark)
one hundred and one (bark, bark)
one hunderd and one little tails were wagging. . .

?

The record was : doggone songs.
Every song was based on dogs
A few songs were from lady and the tramp,
Moochie sang old yeller- (i think)
I'll have to go home and dig through my archives again. . .
thanks for the memory

well, my cassette is in dutch, so it is dubbed.

but it does start with a deep voice going "honderd en één" or in the original English version, it probaply goes "hundred and one".

other songs on there were from Robin Hood, Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan and the 3 pigs.

don't know where to find the full song.

but it's interesting, to say the least, to know the Shermans were involved with Dalmatians. They were never credited for this. wich is weird. Even the casette I own doesn't credit them as writers, eventhough they definitely wrote it.

You don't want that. The songs on the "Bone-a-fide Hits!" album are...
1) Dog Rap
2)Little Puppy
3)You've Got a Friend in Me Rap
4)Puppy Love
5)Anytime You Need a Friend
6)Puppy Dog
7)Hound Dog
8)My Dog's Bigger Than Your Dog
9)Pluto's Waltz (The Blue Danube Waltz)
10) Cruella De Vil
11) 101 Dalmatians

Patrick, I came across this song and remembered you and this thread! I don't know if you're still looking for it (you probably already found it--it's been like 8 years  ) but here it is nonetheless.

You remembered!! Haha, perfect!

I found a version a few years ago, but thanks anyway! Yeah this song really haunted me for years. There was a time where it was driving me nuts.

It should be more well known. It's a classic Sherman brothers tune. Maybe fun for that unnecessary Cruella de Ville biopic?

I had that album! And it also featured Roberta Shore's version of The Shaggy Dog which I LOVE! Wish I could get it on CD.

I had a 101 Dalmatians Sing-Along cassette and book that was released around the time of the live-action remake, and I remember this song was one of the songs on the set. Whether it was this version or a re-recorded version, I can't remember, but I imagine it was on the particular set as there aren't many songs in 101 Dalmatians to begin with so they needed to do some padding-out. ;) It's a cute song, but I don't know if it would have worked all that well in the finished film.
