As anyone here is likely to know, Disney's predominantly live-action comedy Enchanted is directly inspired by a number of the studio's animated feature films. To mark today's DVD/Blu-ray release date of the film, Disney has supplied thirteen comparisons of Enchanted moments with their animated inspirations. Enjoy!

will the d-files utilise this screen comparison style?

I'm not sure. All the Blu-Ray reviews I've read so far say that during the appropriate time in the movie, a question will pop up asking you what Disney scene this is reminiscent of. If you get it right, you see the clip from the film in question along with an interview from a cast or crew member explaining it. So based on that description, I don't think there are split screen comparisons. Still, seeing Disney clips in high definition is a treat unto itself. Aladdin and Cinderella supposedly look the most impressive on the format.

"Being compared to"? Well, obviously these movies were influences for Enchanted. But in terms of quality... What we're dealing with here is a wholly self-referencial film working on mere charm, and the classics which do have an element of Disney originality to them.

I would love to get that movie. "Enchanted" is probably my favorite and I'm getting it.

Thanks for these pics of these comparisons to old films, but after I enjoyed "Enchanted", I will pop in "9 to 5" and see what it compares to this one if I will look for this scene.

Great film, great comparison, I'll get it!

Are we allowed to contribute, or is it just looking and seeing?

I actually think that picture of Narissa (as compared with Maleficent) goes better with the Queen:

I think this one would fit better. Same angles, etc.

& there's a lot more coming, too.

Aladdin - 2
Alice in Wonderland - 1
Beauty and the Beast - 7
Cinderella - 5
Hercules - 3
Hunchback - 3
Lion King - 3
Little Mermaid - 4 (or more...)
Mulan - 1 (maybe)
Peter Pan - 1
Snow White - 10 (including the one I just posted)
Sword in the Stone - 1 (I'm sure you all know which one)

You and Disney's Divinity have the right idea, because in that scene from Enchanted, Queen Narissa is using magic to see Giselle, the girl she wants to kill, in the water, more similar to the Evil Queen trying to find the girl she wants to kill in the magic mirror than Maleficent placing her curse. In fact, water is reflective and clear, like a mirror. But I suppose all have to do with magic visions (there's a vision of Aurora dead).

Can't wait to see Vermin Friends' other comparisons.

Nice pictures :D thought i"m sure that there's more :).
The Evil queen does more fit.
Hmm,Aladdin references-
Narrisa calls Giselle a "forest rat" like Jafar and the guards calls Aladdin a "street rat".
I think they should have add A Whole New World reference.

There's also a Dumbo reference. In the scene where Prince Edward and the other guy are at the Motel they are flipping through channels (yes, this is the same scene where Paige O'Hara makes her cameo). When Edward changes the channel during the soap opera segment you hear a little bit of the 'Pink elephants on parade' segment.

This thread is about scene comparisons, not references. ;) Speaking of, I made a few last night before I fell asleep. :)
