I read this over at TheDigitalBits...

Finally, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the death of Dave Stevens, who passed away after a long fight with leukemia. He was just 52. Dave was a well-known comic artist and illustrator, who started his career as a storyboard artist for Hanna-Barbera. He went on to create scores of well known images, particularly "pin-up" art of Bette Page and other women. But he's best known by far for having created The Rocketeer, a character that was turned into a live-action feature film by Disney (which, by the way, needs a really good special edition treatment on DVD one of these days - maybe on Blu-ray too). Dave was a regular fixture at Comic-Con every summer, and he will absolutely be missed.

I wasn't sure if this should go in Disney Discussion (due to The Rocketeer) or in another forum. Mods, it's up to you.

He will be missed. :(

By everyone except the people at BVHE who now have another excuse not to do a special edition of The Rocketeer. "Why don't you do a featurette on him?" "oh he's dead so it doesn't matter." :x
