What comes after Pinocchio PE?

Does anyone know which title will be certified the Platinum Edition treatment after Pinocchio next year?

Snow White? Or maybe even Fantasia? :D

If we knew, you would've heard it already. Logically, Fantasia should be next so that the collection will be complete before it's rebooted with Snow White. Some sources are saying otherwise, though, with Snow White rumored to be the Fall 2009 Platinum and Fantasia being Spring of 2010. At this point, no one really knows (heck, I don't even think Disney themselves are sure, yet). We probably won't find out till Sleeping Beauty's released at the end of the year. The booklet for that should say what will follow Pinocchio.

As Disneykid said, Fantasia should logically come next. It is the last of the 14 films to receive Platinum Edition treatment. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but I doubt Disney would start over again with Snow White when there is just one title left to finish off the Platinum line. I'm sure the insert in the Sleeping Beauty Platinum Edition will confirm a Fall 2009 release for Fantasia.

I'm wondering if any movies that came out since The Lion King will get PE treatment. First up... Home on the Range!

I doubt it. I think the Platinum Edition line is pretty much set with the 14 titles. I would imagine after Fantasia (presumably in Fall 2009) Disney will start all over again, be it with re-releases of the Platinum Editions or re-releasing the films again but under a new "[fill in the blank] Edition" banner.

Now, that's not to say that Hercules doesn't deserve a good 2-Disc release, because it certainly does!

Defintly Fantasia,Snow White will be released in 2011.
I think Alice In Wonderland and Hercules will be out in 2010 (because of Rapunzel).

I would guess that Snow White would be the fall 2009 PE release because it would bring in more money than Fantasia at that point would. Also that leaves open the summer for a Special Edition re-release of Fantasia 2000, it seems to me that Disney likes to release a Animated Classic over the summer as a Special edition (Dumbo Big Top Edition, Winnie the Pooh Friendship Edition, The Sword in the Stone 45th Anniversary Edition).

I'd like to point out that I made special point of the word "guess". It's a personal pet peeve (sp?) when people simply state what they think is going to happen. It just makes it sound like you "know", when really none of us do know yet. It's just a matter of being clear...

Also on a side note. I'm just curious, but I'd like to know how Alice in Wonderland and Hercules have anything to do with Rapunzel's release Arie'sprince. As far as I know these three films have absolutely nothing in common, other than being animated of course.

I believe she means that the other two movies don't have princesses, so Rapunzel can be marketed to it's fullest.

Hopefully it's Fanatasia, it's been out of print for a while now (like six years!) and I personally want it. But it could be Spring 2010 simply because it's the 70th anniversary.

But The Disney Princess line will have Enchanted Tales volume three and The Princess and the Frog to merchandise next year. They will definitely want to shove Princess Tiana down our throats; much in the same way Giselle was last year. If Disney wants to make the most money of Snow White, fall 2009 is not the time to do it.

Fantasia will probably be released the same way The Jungle Book was last fall. With the normally large fall marketing push aimed at The Princess in the Frog instead of the Fall PE. Plus Disney has what may possibly be the best release date opportunity with Fantasia/2000 as January 1st, 2010 is a Tuesday. If they miss that date they are idiots.

Rapunzel is being released in fall 2010 which could (and should if Disney wants to capitalize on Snow White's release) push Snow White back another year. I think what AP is trying to say is that two other films could be added to the PE line and that that those are what he thinks they should be.

Personally, if Alice (as rumored) has been added to the Platinum collection, then spring 2010 would be the perfect time to release it as a promo for the Tim Burton Alice movie Disney is releasing a few months later. Then either Snow White could be released in the fall, or another title (my guess would be Lilo & Stitch based on the box office and the tremendous success the characters have had since the movie's release. They could just slap the Platinum Edition banner on that 2-Disc set Disney has been sitting on) could be released in October.

I think it's apporiate for Fantasia to be released before Snow White in Fall 09, and it better be unedited (I noticed the cheap editing in the greek sequence) The 60th aniverseary verison was really clear (picture wise) but I noticed a very close zooms on a couple of female centaures

Disney release one Disney Princess film on a PE or on cinema in a year (Like Enchanted in November) (and every princess gets her year-2005-Cinderella,2006-Ariel,2007-Giselle,2008-Aurora,2009-Tiana,2010-Rapunzel and etc.) so they can't release Snow White in 2011.
Disney said that Alice In Wonderland will be released on Blu-Ray so it will be a Platinum Edition,Hercules is pretty popular so Disney will make it a PE.
They don't need to have something in common, did Lady and the Trmap and Little Mermaid had something in common? :P.

As much as we'd like Hercules to be a PE, Ariel'sprince, the probability of it becoming one is very low.

I would assume Fantasia or Snow White would be next.

But isn't Hercules a pretty overrated film? Hades seems to be way overrated in House Of Mouse and the Hercules world appears in every Kingdom Hearts game,so maybe he"ll get a PE?.
