Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend is an early Disney/Touchstone film that I'm very interested in seeing. I remember the ads intrigued me as a kid, but I never saw it. I also tend to enjoy the Disney movies from the very early 80's when the lines were blurred around what constituted a "Disney" movie and the studio was leaning toward more adult content. The problem is the dvd is only available as fullscreen while the movie was originally 2:35:1 widescreen, so I hate to spend money on the dvd knowing I'll be disappointed in its presentation. Does anyone know if this film shows up on any cable channels? I'd like to watch it if it was on tv, but I haven't been able to find it after looking for some time. What channels should I be searching the schedules for, or has it never been aired in recent times? ...or should I just give up and buy the dvd?

Any other opinions about the movie would be welcomed.

The Region 2 DVD is in anamorphic widescreen (2,35:1).

The film is interesting in the way that it could have been released as either a Touchstone or Disney film (though with minor modifications of some dialouge and scenes). The film is weird because it sometimes is very cutesy in the classic Disney sense, while at other times is is quite raw and brutal and I guess that is what led to its diastrous box-office results, like Disney's other big live-action films of 1985 "Return to Oz" and "My Science Project".

The film was according to Dave Smith's "Disney from A to Z" recut for television in 1989 as "Dinosaur: Secret of the Lost Legend".

I saw the movie as a child and it stayed with me forever. At that time, the dinosaurs looked so real. I have the movie on DVD, full screen of course. But I would love a widescreen release.
