Someone opened it up, tried to watch it on a Wal-mart t.v., was almost caught, and put it back. Thus, your copy is a mess.
Or I just made that up and really have no idea. =/ Sorry about this.

I think he's talking about the buena vista stamp. Not every title will have a stamp, I purchase around 5 copies of the Lion King before it went OOP and only one of them had a stamp on it. And just because it didn't have a slip cover doesn't make it a fake. Most slip covers are only made for the first few pressings, i.e. Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, & Cinderella.....

They were all stamped there
But not all had slip covers!

Yeah, not all Disney movies have slipcovers. Well, they do actually (

), but they don't last for long. The last time I got a stamp on my DVD was The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. That was April 2006 I believe.

What the hell is a stamp? The above descriptions do not help. Someone got a picture of one?
Cheers,

The blue (or white, or red) stamping on the outside of the srinkwrap.

Just a note though I don't even know the last time I got a stamping on a Disney DVD.

Well, hey - as long as your happy. But personally, that sounds like a waste of time to me. And that you were interested in it's collector's value as much or more than the actual package content within.

Cinderella 3's slipcover could be diamond encrusted and I still doubt it the DVD would ever have collector's value.

Yeah. So, take the word "value" out. And think about Carlaird's head exploding when they put their new Cinderella 3 DVD on the shelf next to the rest of their Disney collection and...
GASP...
No Slipcover!!

What a mess.

When you say slipcover do you mean like how Enchanted has one with basically the same covers on the sides?... like a box that slips on the outside of the actual DVD case?

Yes. Some open like books, some have metallic print, some have cutesy sparkles, some have cutesy fur, some have 3D raised artwork, some have a lenticular image, and some make noise or have lights. But they're all just tree-killing DVD condoms.

This should be a clear indication of how big a fan of slipcovers Escapay is

But to the original poster - like everyone else is saying - no you did not get a fake. It's been a while since I purchased a Disney DVD with a stamp on it. Just because it doesnt have a stamp doesnt mean it's fake.
