Blu-ray Case Change?!?

Okay, we all know (and I seem to really like) the way Blu-ray's are cased, in those shorter, thinner cases. But I've been noticing on a number of sites that have posted the cover art for some upcoming Disney Blu-ray releases, that the cases look extremely different. For one, they seem to be taller, like the height of a DVD case, and they have big on the top, instead of just having the nice little Blu-ray logo, it has that with some ugly big text reading "Blu-ray Disc" and at the bottom a big blue banner reading "1080p High Definition". Does anyone know what's up with these weird renderings, is it, like a number of these pictures have been over the years (with weird fonts and such), completely different than what the real thing will look like, or is that really it?
Here's some examples of what I'm talking about:

I think these are just examples of the "reworked artwork for online stores" we have seen for normal DVDs from Disney. I don't think the actual physical cases will be any different from normal Disney (and non-Disney) Blu-ray cases.

But I do miss the curved "swoosh" on the new releases which was on the early Disney/Beuna Vista Blu-ray covers. (But I'm probably the only one who does).

No, I kinda liked that design too, made them stand out just a bit more, especially on the ones that come with slipsleeves, and I like the shiny-ness of it.

I also hated the "swoosh". In fact, I hate a lot about Blu-ray cover art.

The "swoosh" at least created a uniform cover design for Disney. I'm more disappointed in the lame packaging these next generation discs have (especially compared to Laserdisc), and If we'll ever see a good boxed set for a movie.

I HATE the Blu ray covers... I hope that once the war is won... they go back to more neutral covers...

Maybe they decided to make the words bigger because a lot of people are buying them and assuming they'd work on regular dvd players !
When I go to buy my blurays, which I do frequently, this woman always keeps telling me this won't work on DVD players, "HELLO I come here every flippin weekend, I think I'd get it by now ! :o "
Can't blame her though, people like buying things that look flashy I guess ! I beg to differ though, I not only notice the format, but I spend lots of time reading the sypnosis on the back of the cover which makes the shop assitant get really pissed off but I guess I'm a really picky person ! :)

I can't stand the "swoosh" since I felt the space could've been used for more/better art work.

As for the "rectangle" vs. the "curves", don't forget that some Blu-rays (POTC) do receive slip covers that are rectangular.

It seems that those weird looking cases are just for show. Cause I was looking at online listings for Tuesday's release of Dan in Real Life, which has one of those weird looking covers on amazon, but we got our shipment in at work, and it's a normal blu-ray case (the ones that Disney usually uses, with the logo imprinted on and the little lock on the side), plus it has the "Beyond High Definition" thing in the corner, as usual.

I cannot... BELIEVE ppl mistake BD's for DVDs the cases are nothing similar and if you havn't heard of Blu-ray yet you must have lived under a rock... Some people are so STUPID... I hope they change the covers so they no longer have the blue top...

Yes the examples above are for online store use. Believe it or not there are STILL ALOT of ppl who have NO CLUE what a B -ray disc is and that it wont work in a regular DVD player.

I actually like the Blu-ray cases, and I liked the HD DVD ones as well. I hope they stick with the smaller cases for these releases and don't go back to the DVD style case.

It appears that they've now changed the covers. Earlier this morning at work, I was sneaking a peek at what's coming next week, and I noticed that with a bunch of new releases for Disney on Blu-ray, they've dropped the "Beyond High Definition" in the corner altogether. All our copies of Hidago and a few others coming Tuesday don't have them. But just around that same area, they have a big sticker saying it'll only play in a PS3 or Blu-ray player (which is becoming more and more of a standard). So now the regular covers, at least on the front, looks just like a DVD one, just not as tall and in those nice blue cases.

I own Enchanted on Blu-ray and the case is normal, without that big text. Those are just retailer mock-ups for use in the circulars and online so they are more visable. It does, however, have Beyond High Definition written in the corner.
