Hi

An old lady here in Norway got this photo back signed lots of years ago, does anybody have any idea if it is real?

It looks like it is signed by someone (not a copy) but is it signed by Walt himself?

I'm not really the expert, but I'd guess that is not a real Walt signature.

Compare it to the ones on the site of Phil Sears:

The one you've got appears to be more of a "promotional item", as far as I can tell, that is probably not signed by Walt.

I've seen several biographies that speak of Walt's inability to replicate the famous Walt Disney logo in his signature. Granted, the D is old-school, but it still looks too logo-like to be an actual signature.

It could still be "official" but not actually signed by Walt himself.

Someone, I can't remember who, someone from the merchandising department possibly was approved by Walt to sign his signature. Since Walt was far too busy as the studio grew during the 50s and 60s, his signature was replicated by this person for most occassions.
