What is the significance of the rose?

Posted: Fri Dec 14, 2007 2:38 pm
by Beast_enchantment
the rose is a ticking clock given to him by the enchantress who transformed him into a beast for being selfish and cruel, and shuning her in disguise as an old woman. every time a petal falls from the rose, the closer it draws nearer to the Prince's 21st birthday, which is the date that the Prince must learn to love another, and earn her love in return. if this isnt acomplished the Prince will remain a beast for all time!

- thats pretty substantial haha

she was apprehensive about the song becasue it was a slow ballad. Alan Menken asked her to at least do one recording as a backup and that's the take that is in the film - good one Lansbury :D
