Christmas present for forum members

Anyone without PM privileges who would like to have them, post in this thread and you'll get them. Here's the catch, though, you've got to post before December 25th and your account must be in good standing. You'll get the privileges on Christmas Day, indefinitely. Of course, the normal rules -- use them in moderation for one-time correspondence, e-mail is always preferred -- still apply.

So what do those of us who have been here forever get?
An opportunity to be a reviewer?
Free money?
A picture of the Lukester himself?
Do tell.

OOH I like option A:.. An oppurtunity to be a reviewer
although I do need money
But then again it would be a honor to see a picture of Luke himself.... who knows maybe Luke isnt named Luke... perhaps that is his username and and alias name for the online world when in real life he could be Bob Saget

Anyone who's asked for it has gotten PM privileges through this post. I know I said I'd wait til the 25th, but I couldn't wait.

The unique thrill of laughing at clueless newbies. To yourself, of course. To do so in a post would violate our most basic forum fundamentals.
As for an opportunity to write reviews, that has been given (recently on the front page) but I guess the requirements outweigh the perks because the only e-mail I've gotten was mine to make sure the address was working. Link here:

I didn't ever see that on the front page (and I still don't see it now...)
I have a question, though:
For the Phone Interviewer/Reporter position, the description says, "Must be able to conduct and record interviews over a phone conversation." How does one actualy record a phone conversation? I'm assuming you mean an audio recording...
If I knew how to do that, I'd love the position (I worked on the high school newspaper for 4 years, so I have some background for it...).

It was up for a few weeks (maybe in or early November), in a side box at the top of the left column. The non-response depressed me enough to pull it. Not that I expected e-mails to pile in, but none at all?! Anyway, it's been really tough because explaining what's needed to people takes so long, as does getting them comfortable with things, and then they may get it right, but flake. We need people who are reliable and can turn out articles, be they reports or reviews, on a regular basis.
Re: recording. You're correct. There are a number of ways to do it, from small tape recorders to using an online phone program like Skype in tandem with a sound recorder and so on. Obviously, the cleaner and more flexible the recording, the easier the transcription process.
But this seems worthy of a separate thread topic I think!
