It might be just me, but I was thinking that the book "The Gardens Of Abdul Gasazi" by Chris Van Allsburg might make a good animated classic. Tell me what you think.

Too long of a title, needs to be shorten.

"The Gardens of Abdul Gasazi" is too long? I shudder to think how you'd handle something like "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad", "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh", or "The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band".

Anyway, I've always said that The Velveteen Rabbit would be a great candidate to adapt into a Disney Animated Classic.

I mean that it dosen't roll off the tounge like all the pervious Disney Animated Movies.

"The Alchemist" would be a great and meaningful story to adapt to a Disney movie, it's about following your dreams and never giving up, the book had Disney written all over it !

Yeah that does sound like a good one. But another one I was thinking of was "The Crystal Ball" tale by the Brothers Grimm.

Why dosen't Disney do another anthology animated movie, like they did with Fun and Fancy Free, Make Mine Music, and Melody Time.

Because they only did those in the first place due to war shortages. I doubt today's audiences would sit through something like that.

Audiences really didn't even sit through them then!

The "package films" earned the studio a steady income during the war, but at the time people weren't flocking to see them like they did for Bambi or Cinderella (which were the films that came directly before and after the "package film era", as I call it). It's sad that the studio didn't have the means of making larger budgit films at the time. I often wonder what could've happened if Bongo, Mickey and the Beanstalk, Sleepy Hollow, and The Wind in the Willows would've been made into if they were individually full-length (like they were intended to be).

I would like to see disney's take on a animated version of Gary Paulson's novel Hatchet. It has the potential to be a little dark at times, but I think it'd be a good action animated film that could also be reminescent of Bambi at times. If they wanted to they could even dip into it's 4 sequels. My favorite is Brian's Winter.

I read The Hatchet in elmentary school back in the 90's, and from what I can remember from reading it, isn't something Disney would likely do, it was quiet scary.

What would happen if Disney made an animated classic based on a story by Dr. Seuss. Let's go for "There's a Wocket in My Pocket" or "Green Eggs & Ham."

Green Eggs and Ham has already been done. Disney dosen't own Dr. Seuss, Universal does.

If Universal does, 20th Century Fox is making Horton Hears a Who with Blue Sky Studios.

Or how 'bout if Disney makes a movie, "Road to Japan." Disney's own Road to... movie.

The Road to... Movies where with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Universal also owns this series as well. A animated take on the Hope/Crosby series, would be interesting, especially if animals were playing the characters in the film.

They should make a movie which has setting of Ancient Egypt or Japan, they already did Ancient Greece with Hercules, too bad they didn't think of that ancient civilisation.
