Luke has treated UD readers with an unexpected surprise this week. There's a new article on the site, entitled
The History of Pixar: One Story, Two Mediums. It provides reviews of a new book (<u>To Infinity and Beyond: The Story of Pixar Animation Studios</u>) and a new documentary film (<i>The Pixar Story</i>). The reviews are not only well-written, but also interesting, as they provide a glimpse at the previously unknown (at least to most, even ardent Pixar fans) stories behind the company.
Additionally, the article contains a special report from the Pixar premiere party for the <i>Cars</i> Blu-Ray and <i>Ratatouille</i> DVD/Blu-Ray release party, with a summary and photos by Christian Ziebarth.
A terrific article that everybody should check out. This has been quite a lively week on the front page of UltimateDisney.com. I hope everyone is keeping up with it, or at least making an effort to. Well done, Luke and Christian!

Whereas historian Jerry Beck said regarding the new Pixar book:
To Infinity and Beyond!: The Story of Pixar Animation Studios (Chronicle Books, 2007) by Karen Paik is exactly the type of book you’d expect it to be, nothing more and nothing less, and so cautious as to be boring. Such might also serve as an adequate assessment of the studio’s last couple of films.
Ouch

The review says that it is by Amid Amidi. My assessment of Amid Amidi? He's a horses behind! What I found boring was his review. Terrible.

Good job on the articles

I admit I'm a tad interested in getting this book, however not at the current price perhaps I'll wait a while until it comes down in price or if I'm lucky perhaps the library will have it....
Anyways, I agree MadonnasManOne, that Amid guy is a bit of a hypocrite I surfed down and read through a lot of the Comments made, apparently this Amid guy praised The Incredibles and has now done an about face with this article. Way to keep your credibility Amid
Again, great job on the articles Luke and Christian, it was nice reading an article(s) that stayed on topic

Wow. That book sounds awesome. Great job on the review. Wish I could get it but I don't have the money right now.
