I've generally avoided purchasing any non-Classic Disney Animations since they've been poor rip offs of the originals. However, with Return to Neverland going OOP and spectacular previews of Lion King 1.5 , I've been thinking of getting some of those. I think for the most part they are probably complete garbage, but even here, there should be some really good Disney gems. Are there any non-Classic Disney Animations worth purchasing (Return to Neverland, Jungle Book 2 , Little Mermaid 2, Cinderella 2, etc.)?

As far as cheapquels are concerned I only can really reccomend The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (and hopefully 1 1/2) and Pooh stuff (except for Piglet's Big Movie.)

As for other animation from Disney which is not considered classic: Can anyone say Dinosaur? Story's a bit weak but still good and the animation is jawdropping. Also, The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach.

I only have 2 that you definatly shouldn't see. That's "Tarzan & Jane" and "The Hunchback of the Notre Dame II". I heard that "Cinderella II" is also a sequel that isn't good. The first 2 I mentioned have hidious animation. They didn't spend any time at shading the characters and the movie looks like one of those movie series from Disney. That animation quality... Tarzan and Jane is also hidious when it comes to animation and the story is actually a lot of stories that are also like a serie from Tarzan. Anyway, I like the rest of the sequels, altough I didn't see them all. I highly recommend "Jungle Book 2" and "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride", "Peter Pan: Return to Neverland" is a good sequel with good animation and the rest I didn't care for actually. But you really have to buy TLK 1 1/2 when it's released, it looks great and the animation is the same as TLK 1!

All the sequals are wonderful predessors to thier forfather except Peter Pan 2. I also like Goofy Movie. You have to see Ducktales the movie. Dinosaur is great as well as The Mickey movies. You have to see the Studio Chibli films. Those are the best animated movies only after Beauty and the Beast.

If you have to get sequels, Return of Jafar is probably the best.

Don't buy any of their sequels. It only encourages them to make more.

Well if you don't like it, don't buy it. Try watching the trailers first on the internet and looking up reviews of the movie. Then you know what you will expect. And about not buying the sequels because they will make more when you do, that's just ridiculous! I for one did like most of the sequels. Ok, there were some bad ones but if you don't like them then just don't buy them! Sometimes sequels are good, just look at TLK 1 1/2, the animation is great, and it's very funny! And I can only see that from the previews! You just buy what you want

I enjoyed The Lion King II, and The Little Mermaid II, to some degree, but not to the point where I can give them strong recommendations, really. Dinosaur had the potential to be one of my all-time favorite movies, and it really should have been, so I'm kind of disappointed with it, even if it is very good. I found The Tigger Movie to be very, very good. And Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas is pretty enjoyable.

This is my first post on this board . I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed Toy Story II, maybe even more so than the origional. Of course this one is OOP now.

As for the animated sequels, the only one I can recommend w/out hesitation is Lion King II: Simba's Pride. IMO, it is the only one that is done well (animation-wise) and has a wonderful soundtrack as well. Return to Neverland is okay...but that's about it.

I thought the little mermaid II was pretty good. The worst ones out there, I think are probably tarzan and jane and cinderella II, that's because it's not really a story, it's just a bunch of mini stories. The pooh movies are really good. I like the tigger movie and piglet's big movie alot. I usually don't buy sequals. In fact, the only ones I have are the tigger movie and piglet's big movie. I usually just rent them and if I like it I'd buy it, but that hasn't happened very often

Everyone already said this, but I'll say it again anyways. Lion King 1 1/2 looks really good. Disney seems to have put alot of work into this one.
