Obviously, I imagine this topic has been kicked around quite often, if it has I apologize, but after exploring Disney's webiste I found some insteresting information. After the merger have a few of the Pixar movies been grandfathered into Animated Classics? Their website clearly lists, Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, Incredibles, and Cars as Animated Classics. Seemingly Monsters Inc is listed under Other Animated Movies.

Interested to hear some comments, as many will be thrilled a few may be a perturbed. I suppose that many will also chalk it up to a clerical error. Regardless my Disney Animated Classic DVD shelf may need some rearranging.

I would only consider Toy Story a classic at this point. MAYBE "A Bug's Life" as well. I can't believe they include something like "Cars" but leave out something like "Monsters Inc!" Personally, I loved them all, but Cars is the weakest of the bunch. Haven't seen Ratatouille yet though.
I would imagine, though, that this list is nothing to put much stock into. Sometimes it seems they call all their animated films classics. To me, the classics are the pre-Little Mermaid stuff, and then a few of the mega hits (including Mermaid) from the Renaissance period. Plus Toy Story. Don't ask me how I arrive at my "classics" list though, ha. I suppose it relies on having either age or popularity, but nothing too recent.

They also include "The Wild". Clearly they are silly.

Disney hasn't done an official count of their "animated classics" in years; it's just obsessive fans on sites like this one that keep it up anymore. Therefore, I wouldn't pay much mind to what's on there.

To me it's #1 Snow White, #46 Meet the Robinsons and everything in between: animated feature. Pixars I file under Pixar. The Wild (which I don't have yet) I would put under Other Animated with Dinosaur and James and the Giant Peach.
