In addition to the HSM cd I posted about yesterday, it appears there will be a new release of Pirates music as well.

All 3 original sountracks, a 4th disc of remixes, and a dvd of behind the scenes footage with Hans Zimmer. All in a collector's case of course.

Wow, remixes

. I'd rather have the complete movie score of the three movies. The remixes that were on the first and second cds were crap anyway, so why a full cd of them?

So, those three OSTS are basically a rehash of the previous PotC OSTs, and the remix disc doesn't seem that interesting either. The only thing that is at least somewhat intriguing in that set is the inclusion of that disc with interviews from Zimmer. I wonder if it only has stuff from the DVDs or if there's going to be some big in-depth documentary (as if!) about the creation of the scores and the development of the leitmotifs.
If only we'd get complete scores of these films (hopefully with new orchestrated versions of the first two soundtracks, because the mixing of the first two scores wasn't that good, especially in the case of the first one). And where's the disc which Zimmer said would contain the themes from at least At World End in their original long suite formats? It'd be interesting to hear how Zimmer originally tackled the ideas for that film and how the suites slowly evolved into the themes we know from the film. Oh well.
