I apologize for posting what may be a repetitive topic (I went 13 pages back but could not find anything wrt Cinderella Platinum), but, as a new employee for one of the largest retail audio/video chains in the USA (sorry, I cannot name them), it seemed worthwhile to let you folks know that there are ___no___ copies of Cinderella Platinum in any of the CHAIN'S distribution centers.
This is in keeping with Disney's apparent plans to pull Cinderella Platinum next year.
The only copies of Cinderella Platinum left are what's in the stores.
So if you want it, get it, because it will soon be gone.
Meanwhile, Cinderella II, with a new yet recycled pose (geeze, don't art departments get tired of using those same poses all the time??) will be showing up in Mid December.

I'm so paranoid, I keep my Platinum DVDs locked in a safe just in case my little cousins decide to drop in for a visit and terminate everything in sight, they're priceless to me, especially my Snow White and Beauty & the Beast DVDs coz you won't find any of those anymore !

Thanks for warning us, Kurtadisneyite! Any chance you know if the collector's box set is still available? I want an extra copy...

I never saw Cinderella all the way through from beginning to end, until I got the PE DVD a few months ago. I just always saw segments on various Disney specials on TV. I quite enjoyed it.

I have Platinum Editions of "Snow White", "Beauty and the Beast", "Cinderella", "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin" on DVD. Will have to wait until "Sleeping Beauty" comes out next year. I've never got a DVD of "Sleeping Beauty" since 2003 when it was out of print. As for "Cinderella 2", I might get the DVD sometime within the next two months, I have the VHS tape of that film along with a horrible copy on VCD which was downloaded from Limewire a few years back when it was copied on a VCD. I can't stand the VCD copy of this film, but I will get the DVD soon. I have both "Cinderella" and "Cinderella 3", I'll get the second film to complete the trilogy.

All I know is the warehouses of the major chain I work for has __no__ copies of Cinderella Platinum or Cinderella III in any form whatsoever.
So the 45K sq ft store I now work in has no Cinderella Platinum __or_- Cinderella III in its racks because we cannot order it !
I'd suggest if you want these titles, search around and get it before the end of this year, because after that (per another topic elsewhere on this forum) Disney will be pulling it.
And yes, we will have C_II (fortunately buried in the media racks away from my service station - we don't fly huge banners like some other retailers do).
BTW, a store can be fined a five figure $ amount for releasing a __single copy__ of a title ahead of its "street" (release) date. And that includes internal sales to employees!

oh yes, one other thing. If the chain has an on-line version of itself, check that as the distribution system for those are different than those used by the chain itself.
In our chain's case, the online branch still has all the Disney Cinderellas available. However, that's until Disney pulls the titles, at which point they are history.

--- and the store I work for solved its Cindy-less problem by doing a "store transfer" of copies obtained from another districts' store. So we now have cheerful Cindy 1 and 3 in stock.
They should be around until end of the year.

Hi. After reading this, I decided to go around and see what was still out there.. Most stores didn't have a single copy..Some of the larger ones like FutureShop and Bestbuy had a few, but with no slipcover.. I noticed they and places like Walmart were selling titles like Mary Popins and Pocahontas for $20 CND..
I finally found one at a grocery store call Great Canadian Superstore with a decent looking slipcover.. Thanks for the heads up or I might have missed this one.. I really a sucker for slipcovers..
It's been a while since I watched it.. Hoping to get it on the weekend..

LMAO! I do the exact same thing with my Platinum Editions! My cousins are so rough with EVERYTHING, I won't let them near my Disney collection. Everything will be destroyed within minutes!

To the OP, to the particular stores that I frequent where I live (Best Buy, Future Shop, Wal-Mart etc...) all of them actually still have many copies of Cinderella. Some even with slipcovers too!

Future Shop.. I assume you're in Canada? Which part? True, I've seen handful of copies Cinderella at WalMart, HMV and BestBuy, but 1 copy out of 3 Superstores in Vancouver and that one happen to have a slipcover..
It's in Ok condition, but I've really picky and won't mind upgrading..

Yes, I'm Canadian. I live in Ontario. I actually haven't never noticed if the Superstore by where I live still has Cinderella. I remember a few weeks ago I found Dumbo there WITH a slipcover and only 1 copy had it and it was in mint condition. I wasn't able to find one with a slipcover anywhere else! When I go to the Superstore this weekend I'm gonna check out the electronics section out of curiosity. They just may have some copies of Cinderella with the slipcover too.
