With the recent death of Jane Wyman, it got me thinking that Disney might pull a fast one on us one of these days and place Pollyanna back into the Vault.

Anyone else think so? Or has it only been out on DVD for a few years?


(Also, something very strange happened.......I bought a BRAND new sealed DVD of Pollyanna from overstock.com, put it in my DVD player, it said loading, but didn't load right away........pushed play and it started in the MIDDLE of the movie! I thought that was weird)

Just watched it a couple of weeks ago and it was a really good movie. Good plot and theme. Very good acting except for the doctor who turned in a terrible performance. But Wyman, Haley Mills, agnes Moorhead among others were excellent. Really not necessary for another release as this one was excellent just reissue them - then I can pick up the Parent Trap and Old Yeller.

I'm surprised they haven't reissued it w/o the second disc. This has been out since 2001 or 2002 I think. All of the original Vault Disney sets have been reissued in some form except for Pollyanna and Swiss Family Robinson. I just got the SFR Vault Disney release and see that it was issued in a different type of keep case, two discs in one large case instead of the original large case that you had to open separate compartments to get to each disc. Let's just say I like the more current design better.

I've always been miffed that Jane Wyman doesn't get much credit for the role of Polly Harrington in any of her movie history reviews. I always felt she brought just as much as Haley Mills did to the table. She wasn't so cold that you hated her, but just enough to know there was a reason behind it.

Well, as I haven't gotten the 2-disc Vault Disney version yet, I don't want them to vault it or reissue it. I just managed to get the Vault Disney Old Yeller off Ebay, and that was troublesome enough for me. I thought I'd have to do the same for Pollyanna, because it had disappeared from local stores for a while, but I have recently seen it out and about again. Still broke though. There's always something else I have to get and my income is still pretty low. Next month, it's going to Jungle Book. I still need Swiss Family Robinson as well, and I prefer the 2-disc Vault versions because the reissues usually lose extras, especially the commentaries. Still need to try to Ebay the separate releases of the Witch Mountain films. I also haven't bought 20,000 Leagues Under the see yet. Basically, the only Vault releases I have are Old Yeller and Parent Trap, and (if it counts) the Love Bug boxed set with the 2-disc version and the "classic" sequels. Of course, I have other Disney live-action releases, but those are the fancy Vault ones.
