I ordered the Bride to Terabithia as the featured selection this month. I went through checkout all the way, and never saw anything about it being widescreen or full screen, and I didn't even think about it, assuming it would be widescreen. Well, sure enough, I got it yesterday, and it is full screen.
I checked again on my wife's account, since she didn't accept or deny her selection yet, and sure enough, from clicking on the selection to the check out, there is no where that it states, or gives you the choice, of full screen or widescreen. I have e-mailed them about it and I will get a widescreen copy.
I just wanted to warn others about this kind of thing, which is completely unacceptable.

I always call in my feature of the month decision to a cast member and i always specify WIDESCREEN and they screw it up all the time, I told them that they should make widescreen the default selection, i hate full screen. Then they sent me full screen versions of Santa Clause 1 and 2 after i called them and specified wide so they resent me Santa Clause 1 and 2 in widescreen and sure enough they sent Santa Clause 2 in full screen a 2nd time, when i called them back they said they didn't have it in widescreen, I told them I want the 3d card and santa clause 1 and they actually let me return santa clause 2 and keep the 3d card and santa clause 1. They have really been unorganized lately.

wide screen is good in someways and bad in some ways. the people who do the work on the mastering should make sure nothing is lost in the process of making ws dvds.

I've made the same mistake in the past..

Nothing is lost when making a widescreen DVD. A movie that is offered in both wide screen and full screen was originally shot for a movie theater screen which is usually in a wide screen format.

So, a wide screen presentation is usually the closest thing to what was seen in the movie theater. A full screen movie is usually modifed from the wide screen version. It usually must cut off edges on either side of the screen to make it fit the full screen format. So, when you watch a full screen movie you are missing large chunks of the picture on either side. Worse yet, they have to modify the camera shots (called pan and scan) in some scenes when on character is on one side of the screen and another character is on the other side of the screen and they would both be cut off in the full screen edit. So they artificially force the screen to pan between the characters during the scene.

If it's the black bars you don't like, they usually don't show up in the new wide screen TV's...unless you have a full screen show, then you will get black bars on either side of the screen. So, it's almost always better to get the widescreen version of films.

i prefer the widescreen version over the fullscreen version disney should really offer the option to order wide or full on the feature title. We're paying our money to be in DMC we should be able to choose.

I ordered Enchanted when it was the featured title and this happened to me. I checked the aspect ratio listed and it said it was the format for WS. However, when it shipped I got FS. I probably should have sent it back but my daughter is happy with it.

I ordered the Bridge to Terabithia and I got the WS version.
