Well, I am back VERY early from my trip to WDW. I won't go into details-but just because you get the flu shot, don't think you can't get the flu!!

Anyway, I was able to see Mickey's Philharmagic the night of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Dec. 9. It was fabulous! It was a walk-on (no waiting, as a matter of fact, there was no waiting that night on ANY rides-Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, etc.!) and we got right in.

This 3-D movie is so cute! It's called Mickey's Philharmagic but features Donald. He steals Mickey's Sorcerer's hat and all heck breaks loose for Donald! He flies through famous scenes from MANY Disney movies, including The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Lion King, etc. It has many special effects, such as water, wind and scents. I won't tell all so it will be a surprise for those going to the Magic Kingdom to see it. If you are going to WDW, don't miss it! It was the favorite thing of my VERY short trip.

Sounds great ... sorry to hear you had to cut that short because of the flu.
How long is Mickey's Philharmagic there? Is it temporary or a permanent addition?

I believe it will be permanent. It is in the place of the now gone Lion King puppet show, Legend of the Lion King. They built a very nice theater in it's place.

Don't miss it-it's great! If you love Donald Duck, you will love this.

Oh that's soo great to hear it's probably permanent!!!! My parent's don't travel at all so they are not willing to take me (yet), and I really want to see it!!!!!

I would say people thought that about Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in WDW, too!

Well, it's as permanent as permanent can be in an ever changing and growing theme park. Meaning that it will be there for at least 5 years. After that it could be changed, updated and or replaced by something else, unless it stays popular, then it could last even longer. I hope this clarifies things!

Their next set of attractions will include Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom, the Motor Stuntshow in MGM, Stitch's Great Escape (which is a Stitch update of Magic Kingdom's Alien Encounter), a Soarin' Over California attraction next to the Land Pavillion at Epcot and a Nemo update to the Living Seas pavillion at Epcot.

Didn't Pixar form a new deal after A Bug's Life where Disney couldn't use their characters in the theme parks? Or maybe my head ain't screwed on straight today.

I have no idea, but they are set to shut down the Living Seas in March or April for the rehab. Its all rumored at this point, but it looks like it is going to happen and soon.

Hmm, I saw some scenes of the "Pillharmagic" atraction, which were aired in a television special about the new atractions at Disney World here in Brazil. It only serverd to remind me how great traditional animation is... The human characters looked like plastic dolls, and their movements were unrealistic. Of course, it's not fair to judge it withouth seeing the real and complete thing, but what I saw left me cold.

If you don't like the animation in Philharmagic, then you don't like animation!! It's so detailed and so life-like! I don't want to go into details here because I want those who haven't seen it to be as surprised as I was, but it's fabulous! And-they have a great shop FILLED with Donald Duck items for those of us Donald fans. Stuff with Donald is hard to find and I was certainly pleased with my purchases.

I personally can't wait until next Dec. so I can go see it again!!

As I said, it's hard to judge seeing it on television... I'm sure I would change my mind if I saw the real thing. Still, I'm not very found on human CGI animation.

Also, the animation on Philharmagic was done by the 2D animators and then converted to the 3D, since the computer guys were having trouble getting it right. So, technically, you could say that it is 2d animation.

The rehab on the Living Seas Pavillion has already started in Epcot. The pavillion is still open so far.

I went to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Celebration last night and my favorite thing was the Philharmonic 3d show. It was wonderful! Don't miss it guys!

Well during the show Donald jumps in the scenes of: Beauty & the Beast, Sorcerers Apprentice, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Peter Pan, and Aladdin. I believe that is all of them...

I love Mickey's PhilharMagic! The 3-D, the Special Effects- tactile and what not, were all superb. I, obviously, really like the Little Mermaid segment. It thought it was great how you were being sprayed by the water from the Brooms' Buckets, and then the scene turned to Ariel's Grotto.

Splendid.

In that order too! I love also how the screen widens with each movie.

This is definitely a multiple ride, one you can do more than three times during a visit and still enjoy it (as opposed to having a multiple viewing of say...Stitch's Great Escape.)
