Certainly there are those out there that agree with me when I say that

The Lion King ,altough best ever, was initially Kimba the White Lion
(waiting for angry response  )

Dreamwork's Sharktale was stolen from
the tv series Fish Police (Hanna Barbara)

Warner Bros's Ant Bully -Dreamworks's Antz

Need I say more

I'm not sure how "Antz" was stolen to make "The Ant Bully", apart from the fact they both involve ants...

Storywise you are absolutely correct, but visually a lot was taken from Dreamworks

It's true that the animation companies more than likely get ideas off of each other, but some studios give permission or are happy that others did.

For example, I found the first 2 volumes of Kimba at a Wal-mart for $1 each and on the back they give themselves credit as being an influence to Disney's The Lion King.

Other film like Madagascar and The Wild seem too coincedental though.
