OKay I read this somewhere before, like waaaay back in the day when the internet was young. There was this really cool website that I dont think even exists anymore that had this list of future plans for Disney animated features.

Now because 50 is a significant number, I do recall them saying that Disney animated feature #50 would be a full-length feature starring Mickey, Minnie, Donald Goofy and all of those characters.

So because of Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons (which I dont think should be counted as cannon but probably will) made me lose count I think we're pretty close to 50 right? Wouldnt it be a cool idea to make that Mickey centric film animated feature #50 and release it in Dec 2012...the 75th anniversary of Disney feature animation (and Snow White). That would be awesome.

Right now, Meet the Robinsons finishes off #46. I've never heard this before, interesting.

Yeah I remember hearing about that too. It was going to be called "The Search for Mickey Mouse" and it was supposed to have at least one character from every Disney Animated Classic. It would've been a cool idea, but I believe it was dropped years ago.

Ghosts that Haunt Me, Fantasia 2006 and the Search for Mickey Mouse were all cancelled. The Search for Mickey Mouse was to heavily feature Mickey, Aladdin and Basil. They just could not get the movie to work with all of the characters going through it.

It probably was seeming too much like a direct to video project no matter how they wrote it. Still would have loved it though. The concept does put me in mind of a couple of things though: An episode of Bonkers where they were searching for a kidnapped Mickey Mouse but for some reason never showed him (just his voice and hands or something, I forget), and the Mickey's 60th Birthday Special, where Mickey was missing and everyone was looking for him but couldn't recognize him because of a spell.

The concept seems strange for a full-length, bigscreen feature, but I guess if they can make Space Jam and Looney Tunes Back in Action, this could work too (I rather liked Back in Action, but the only reason I'm a Space Jam loyalist is Lola Bunny, ha). One way they could've made it work was with a Who Framed Roger Rabbit kinda setup, the mix of live-action and animation like those Looney Tunes flix. Too bad they're not still trying to work it out. I still say the direct to DVD department should have been kept alive for the purpose of occasional Mickey and friends features in the line of Mickey's Three Musketeers and possibly the occasional feature like this. They could have stopped with the sequels and still made some good stuff. Three Musketeers and Once and Twice Upon a Christmas was great, and they could have made some direct to DVD features based on their old animated shows, like DuckTales, Darkwing, the Gummi Bears, etc... It also would have been a good home for future Pooh films that really weren't big screen material but still enjoyable. If they would only promise to keep it all 100% new and high quality material, they could have had a couple of direct to video releases a year that they could be proud of. It would also be a good place for theme park attraction based animated features, like a GOOD Country Bears movie...

Animated-Movies.net used to be my absolute favorite website- I would just stay up all night looking at it. Too bad they closed it down. But hip-hip-Poohray for Archive.org!

I also remembers one web page where we could see some conception art of all the canonal features that once were planned, but never were made. If we include these planned movies that never went into actual production, we would probably have at least ten more films. And for all we know, maybe some top at Disney decides to remove the dust from one of these projects oen day and make it real. Disney himself had some projects he had planned years ago, but had to wait to start until the moment was right.

I think the plot should involve Mickey and company trying to save the world from the Disney villains.

I prefer to forget about the numbers - particularly after #44. But if they manage to come up with something good about Mickey and company - why not?

It's going to be an animated Disney Classic, the 50th?

Boys hate movies with girl names as titles. Duh. Never mind story, characters, or performances, I as a boy will NOT see a movie if it has a girl's name in the title.

First let me say that i'm not trying to be mean but WOW you must be young.

Anyway, they could always make a film that is losely based on Fantasmic. Due to the popularity of the show at the parks, I don't see why they couldn't turn it into something nice on the big screen.

Well, certainly Mulan is not a film I'd call "girlish" even though it has a female protagonist. The others, maybe, to an extent (what with their focus on romance and all), but they're great movies regardless.

I just don't get it myself. I'm a guy, and I love the "girl titled" Disney movies as much as the others. For one, the girls are super hot. Secondly, guys often crave romance as much as girls do, even if their concepts are not always the same. But, most importantly, they're good movies. I understand not liking "chick flicks." It's true, some films are made with a female audience in mind, but I don't see that as being the case with any of the Disney animated flicks.

Sorry, I just found that incredibly shocking considering that's a list of some of Disney's finest over a reason because the main character is a chick...Really though the movies generally have the same *thing going with movies like Aladdin, Hercules and Tarzan.
