Hi all,

when I first saw the teaser for Tinkerbell, I was sure that it was Loreena Mckennitt singing. So I emailed her website (there's an Ask Loreena section) and I got a reply confirming her involvement with the movie and that she has composed songs for the movie.

Loreena McKennitt is a Candian celtic new age performer, some people might compare her to Enya, though Loreena's music and vocals are far superior. Her biggest US hit was " the Mummer's dance (single version)" which appeared on the soundtrack for Ever After. She was supposed to have been involved with the Lord of the Rings before Enya and Annie Lennox.

Oh. I'm actually kind of bummed about this. "The Mummer's Dance" wasn't a bad song, but it wasn't my cup of tea. Hopefully the music will fit in with the movie...only time will tell!

I am not a big Celtic music fan but I think Loreena's music is fantastic. She is a superb volcalist. Great pick by Disney.

Wow, cool choice! My wife really likes her music too, I'll have to tell her about this.

Wow...when I heard Mummers, I was totally thinking of something else!
Being from the Philadelphia area, these are the Mummers:

Maybe the old footage in Loreena McKennitt video is what inspired the Philadelphia traditional Mummers?

Anyhow, that was off topic...that's really cool that she did songs for the movie in addition to the trailer. I'm glad that the Tinkerbell Movie didn't suffer the fate of Cinderella III and Aurora's Enchanted Tales episodes since they had very unfitting girly pop music. I really like this style of music and find it suiting for the Tinkerbell movie.
