Luke already confirmed back on Home Theater Forum that Buena Vista's release of Super Mario Bros would be widescreen but does anyone know if 3 Ninjas will be? Both are slated for 1 week from now.

According to Disney's information, it will be 1.85:1.

I've only seen parts of Super Mario Bros, but it seemed kinda fun. The Dennis Hopper villain, the bizarre attempt to blend the videogame's ridiculous plot with an air of reality. Campy, no doubt...but fun.

But it will be in stores for like $5-$6, so perhaps worth picking up.

:D

Great news, Luke. 3 Ninjas was one of my favorite flicks growing up-same with SMB, nice to know they're both in widescreen esepecially since Ninjas was fullscreen on LD.

I knew it was too good to be true, several retailers are reporting that 3 Ninjas is indeed Standard 1.33:1 fullscreen. At least SMB is widescreen but I was looking forward to this one too. NO SALE.

Gosh, that sucks. Guess Disney's site isn't good for much. They say widescreen: http://bvhe.video.go.com/products/2924503.html

This is where it gets wierd. I posted a topic about the cover on HTF. Weekly Roundup and even DVD Empire state that it's fullscreen but someone messed up and I hope it wasn't Disney. Just don't know if it's worth the gamble to pick up tomarrow, might be a misprint on Disney's part. Wierd indeed.
