Teenager dies at Disneyland Paris

French police are investigating the mysterious death of a 14-year-old girl who lost consciousness while riding on a roller coaster at Disneyland Paris. The Spanish teenager's friends noticed she was unconscious when the RockNRoller Coaster ride had stopped. Medical teams at the theme park tried to revive her but by the time an ambulance arrived, the girl had died. A preliminary inspection of the roller coaster found no machinery malfunction, but the ride remains closed. Disneyland spokesman Pieter Boterman said the ride would not reopen until the cause of the girl's death was determined. The ride is at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Marne-la-Vallee, east of the French capital.

why do they have to assume it's the ride that kills the person? the person might have a disease they weren't aware of or had a heart attack. and it's sad that girl died. i hope her family will get through it okay. :(

Yeah I read that on CNN. Probably the same thing that happened to the boy who died on mission space. She might have had an undiagnosed condition.. I wonder if they closed the ride in MGM as well??

Another park goer has died after riding the Rock n' Rollercoaster at Disney. This time it was a 14 year old girl who died (June 26, 2007) at DisneyLand Paris almost one year after a 12 year old boy died (June 29, 2006) at Disney World. Here is the article:

Associated Press - PARIS -- French police are investigating the death of a 14-year-old Spanish girl who lost consciousness while riding a roller coaster at Disneyland Paris, park officials said Tuesday.

The cause of the girl's death remained unclear. A preliminary inspection of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster ride found no malfunctions with the machinery, Disneyland spokesman Pieter Boterman said.

The girl boarded the ride Monday at the theme park in Marne-la-Vallee east of the French capital, and when the ride stopped, her friends found her unconscious, Boterman said.

Medical teams at the theme park tried to revive her, but by the time the ambulance arrived, the girl had died, he said.

Police opened an investigation, and an autopsy was planned for Tuesday, he said.

Disneyland authorities immediately shut down the ride, and it remained closed Tuesday. Boterman said the park was waiting to hear the cause of the girl's death before determining whether to reopen it.

The ride is at Walt Disney Studios Park, one of two theme parks at Disneyland Resort Paris. The complex, which opened in 1992, was formerly called Euro Disney.
