Something I noticed about "Cinderella"

Every time Cinderella was made available on home video in the US, the release date was always October 4.
October 4, 1988 (Walt Disney Classics)
October 4, 1995 (Masterpiece Collection)
October 4, 2005 (Platnium Edition)
Did anyone else notice this?

I've also noticed that. Another thing is that both sequels were released on different dates in February. My theory for that is Valentine's Day sales. As for the October 4 releases, I'm not sure. Perhaps it's just a pattern Disney follows for the sake of organization.

I've never noticed, but that is quite interesting. The next time October 4th falls on a Tuesday is 2011, so perhaps that is when we'll see Cindy on Blu-Ray.

question, why do movies always get released on a tuesday? when was the last time a movie came out on a non-tuesday?

Not really sure why, but that is just the day for new entertainment, I guess. CD's, DVD's, books, and I believe even video games always come out on Tuesdays (for the most part). Kinda like
most movies open in theaters on Fridays.

I'm pretty sure it's because all of the shipments come in on Monday, which enables them to put them out on the shelves by Tuesday morning.

There are a few reasons why almost all CDs and DVDs come out on Tuesday.
Most stores will receive their Tuesday 'lay down' shipments on Wed, Thurs or Fri. That way, if a hot title is missing (or lost or stolen) there is time to ensure that replacements are available by Tuesday, or sometimes even more importantly - the weekend following the lay down date.
It also ensures a 'level-playing field' so that store that receive an item a day or two before the compitition won't have an edge over the store that gets a shipment later on in the week.
The fixed lay-down date is also used so that there is a set time to measure sales for the Billboard (and other) charts.

Is the Date of October 4, 1995 accurate?
That's a Wednesday. Just noticed that after everyone was talking about things being released on Tuesdays.
I checked with my Windows calendar.

If it really is a Wednesday, than that means they really strive to get it out on 10/4!

what days are the other 10/4's anyway? if they aren't tuesday's then we can telkl if they plan to release it on 10/4's always.

Once in a while DVD's are released on different days:
The Shrek DVD was released on Friday, November 2, 2001 to compete with the theatrical release of Finding Nemo.
Toy Story 2 Special Edition was released on Monday, December 26, 2005 to cash in on the after-Christmas shopping rush.
Shrek 2 was released on Thursday, November 4, 2004 to compete with the theatrical release of The Incredibles.
I'm sure there are others, but I can't recall anymore right now.
So see, it happens sometimes.
