Lazario Suspension?

Yes, I'm being nosy again. I'm just wondering, what did Laz do to get suspended, and how long is his suspension? :?

Cheers,

Seriously? I can't think of a single reason for his suspension. :?
I think this lovely community is getting a little hostile. We should all join hands and sing kumbaya together.

He insulted the great Chuck Norris in this post. :P
Lazario wrote:Walker Texas Ranger needs to be preserved as a series in some Museum of Modern Film & TV Art - it's one of those amazing examples of "So Bad-It's Good." Much like Full House, you just get the feeling that the writers are either sellouts or insane. And the actors are definitely crazy. The quality of the show leaves the viewer with so many questions. The biggest of which is clearly - "is this for real?" Is this like some kind of complex, ahead-of-its'-time satire? Or is it a kind of Dragnet-update? I mean, when I look at NYPD Blue and say- "their criminals seem realistic" (in comparison)... you know something's amiss. I'm from the school that thinks you actually have to put the criminal(s) and the cop(s) on the same level if we're to understand the criminal mind. This show just exploits what it thinks the criminal mind is like. Or what it doesn't think. And basically ends up a sappy, ultra-trashy show. Where the criminals are like the Teens being peer-pressured in an after-school special and the cops are playing the timelessly, relentlessly comatose "Macho, Cool, and Dressed to Kill" cliche. And the whole time, instead of taking this ridiculous show seriously- I have to wonder how smart Chuck Norris actually is.
I'm puzzled by his suspension as well. The last couple days he's been pretty tame, and I can't find any suspension-worthy posts in his posting history. Unless it's the whole "Family Guy sucks, and people who watch it are mindless idiots who have no grasp of true humor!" debacle.

For future reference, keep in mind that members can be suspended for activity not seen on the forum, including PM, chat room, email, and spam abuse, or activity in deleted threads, etc.

That is not so much the case here, but if we're going to have to have a public discussion everytime the moderators act, I think it's worth pointing out.

Lazario was suspended primarily for personal attacks on the forum, following a complaint sent to the moderators and problematic activity in several threads. I don't think it's fair to Lazario to go into any further detail. His suspension was for one week, assuming that there are no additional problems.

Also keep in mind that forum violations on the part of members who have received multiple warnings and/or suspensions in the past are not tolerated to the same level that they might be for first-time offenders. Such is the case here.

Let me assure you that the moderators aren't in the habit of suspending members without reason. In this case, there was actually more than one single reason.

Oh, I'm well aware. The mods around here do a great job. My comment was in no way an attempt at accusation! I was just a bit perplexed as to why is all. Thanks for clearing the air, Aaron, even if it isn't a part of the job description. :)

My suspension was a complete and utter crock of horse-s***. And everyone who took part in it are a bunch of whiny, two-timing, back-stabbing cowards.

I would like to thank Aaron for being very polite and upfront about everything... However, a message to the moderators at UD - you procrastinators need to clean yourselves up first.

Clearly, you didn't learn a lesson. Maybe another week will help. Such hostility and negativity is just not welcome here.

Lazario's suspension

It seems that Lazario feels that people should not be so uptight about his expressing how bad he thinks something is. I mean, if you think that people who watch a certain show are idiots, that's what you truly think. You're being honest.

But the moderators have to repect other member's feelings, and not everyone here can take some name-calling. I mean, seriously, I think everyone can get used to Lazario and the people who are..."hurt" by him may be too sensitive.

I don't know. Part of me says "freedom of speech, you wouldn't get arrested for calling someone a moron", but then there's the whole "if someone gets hurt, it's your responsibility to stop the hurt."

But is it UD's responsibility? It could be the other way around. The motto could be: If you don't like people being mean to you...you won't want to sign up here. Cause you won't like it.

I guess it's just a choice, and as it stands, the motto is: If you're gonna be mean...you won't want to sign up here. Cause you'll get banned.

I hate to be out of the loop. Who's been suspended recently and who is now keeping company with Tangela, lolopimp, Disneybell, princesssnowbunny, and a few others?

ETA:

Never mind. I see that danfrandes is suspended while disneyfreak90 (aka Disneyfreak1990) is in the vaults. I'm guessing that DF90's "new" account was banned and Luke gave him his old password (which, IIRC, he said he couldn't remember) so he could use his first account.

Just so there's no confusion, as Escapay correctly guessed, Disneyfreak1990 has not been banned; only his duplicate account (disneyfreak90) has been.

What I mean is that he's "in the Vaults", which is a title sometimes given to banned members.
