I think I'm gonna buy a couple of DVDs, and I've been wondering whether TRDU may be re-issued soon. Do you guys think I should take a risk and get it? After all, it's very cheap on play.com. Hercules is expensive, considering it's just an empty disc with a non-anamorphic transfer. Tut tut.

Hmmm...I think that, if you can get it cheap enough, definitely buy it- it's a great movie. I mean, anything's possible, so Disney *could* rerelease it sometime, but, as I said, if it's cheap, you should buy it...

The question will have to be - does anyone have reason to think that it'll be reissued soon?

That it (and basically any other title) will be eventually should not be questioned, I guess...

Well, I'm very satisfied with the DVD. Video quality is strong, even if this is not taken directly from the digital CAPS files, but rather from a print. Audio too is is solid - conveying Bruce Broughton's score very well through the 5.1 setup. Note that in Region 2, TRDU is presented in 5.1 and not merely Dolby Surround as in Region 1.

What made me cry tears of anger were the DVD menus. Incredibly, the music used to accompany them is not taken from the film itself, but is a slowed-down clip of the score from The Prince and the Pauper.

Can any sane person explain how even the dumbest of idiots could see any artistic connection with the sweeping strong score of the Prince and Pauper, and a good dose of church organ with the Australian wildlife shown. And yes, you can hear the majestic organ playing whilst watching kangaroos hop and an eagle fly. Dumb, dumb, dumb ...

The disc doesn't even offer The Prince and the Pauper as a bonus. If it did that, the music might make a bit of sense. A bit, mind you ... in my eyes it would still be unforgivable.
