2006 Movie Survivor Second to Last the real thread

Myself and Just Myself have made a commissioners decision. In fairness to all of the people who played this game for fourty rounds the votes of the people who suddenly jumped in in the third to last round are not going to be counted especially in light of former Survivor shenanigans. I am counting the votes as Departed 4, Cars 2, Pan's Labarynth 1 without those votes. If anyone can provide evidence of prior voting(at least two rounds) by Umbrella Fish, Escapay, Prudence, Sequel of Disney. I will hold off on posting the actual round in case anyone can show this by tonight.

We really did not want to do this but it just liked too much of the last minute vote rigging that ruined Survivors for some past players. Anyone who does not like it can go and sulk in the corner with the guy with the Porco Rosso avatar(dont remember his name)

Sincerely,

Myself(Mr. Toad) and Just Myself

Well, I don't know about prior voting, but Escapay, Prudence, and Sequel of Disney are long-standing posters. This isn't cheating, at most it's recruiting, which is a semi-fair tactic. Lord knows we did it in the old days. ;)

And to the best of my recollection both of us among others said we were going to stop the tactic after it blew up the last time - feelings were hurt, members were banned. Got kind of ugly. I know I was one of the principles at that time but I think we said no more. And to be honest - I am not sure some of those people havent voted especially Sequel, which is why I have not posted the next round yet. If need be I will go back and check all of the rounds. But the artist formerly known as Secret Disney Man and I have discussed it and we think this is the fairest for the game and to the people who have played it.

If any of those people have made an attempt to play the game at all then their votes count. And for the record I was voting for neither Cars or the Departed so no skin off my back for which one goes, I really dont care. In fact Cars is the bigger threat. Just want to keep it on the up and up.

TheSequelofDisney - Round 16

It's the only thread I've checked so far, but I'm sure there are more rounds in which he's participated.

Honestly, I think this whole thing is a bit much. You're saying feelings will get hurt because of the supposed 'recruiting' that's taking place, yet no one had even said a word about Cars getting eliminated until you two stepped in! If anything, this very thread is what will cause all the drama. As for the recruiting, if what you say is true about only two Cars votes being valid, then that means either castleinthesky or myself are responsible for grabbing Escapay, Sequel and Prudence and begging them to save The Departed. Well, I'm the new guy, so I don't see anyone on this site aiding me any time in the near future, and I really don't think CitS would go that far just to save a movie. If he did, I don't think The Departed would've been losing to PotC in the round after that.

Tickler - I had a feeling Sequel had played and possibly Escapay which would put us in a tiebreaker. There is some history here. There was a prior Survivor in which such games of last minute recruiting were played and it ended up being a huge mess. A member ended up being banned and Luke advised us to make sure the games were run on the up and up or quit playing them. At that point myself, Raydawggie, Castle and others said we would no longer do such things and just let the games play out. Really what is at risk here, is the ability to be allowed to play these games as Luke has warned so we will abide by that. I will check the prior rounds and see what votes count. If it ends up being within one as it appears it will be then I will withdraw my vote and we can have a tiebreaker.

As for alliances - I havent seen any evidence there is one and if there was it would likely be Castle, Ray and myself(we have been known to team up and absolutely slaughter the competition). Hey guys remember that girl who loved Sleeping Beauty who we convinced that she was actually voting for the movie and was the deciding vote in eliminating it. Damn we were good.

Umbrella Fish - no problem. Please feel free to play in the future. I imagine a new Survivor will pop up right after this one ends in a couple of days.

The problem with this survivor is not the members who posted, in all fairness. The problem was the many different members who controlled the game, the lack of closing times, and the tiebrakers which were made lazily. Tiebrakers should be made when everyone has an equal vote, not when only members who are voting for the first time that round have a vote. The lack of consistency in rules and the lack of organization are what's hurting this survivor.

I know everyone who has been moderating this survivor has tried their best to make it fun and I applaud everyone for that.

Also, to just make sure everything is straight, I have not recruited members for ages to play.

I wasn't aware there was really a problem with recruiting. I know in the past we've had problems with duplicate accounts. That's what Boss was banned for. Getting his wife and kids to vote. His wife and kids who just registered, and had the exact same grammatical errors that he did.

I haven't been all that active in the site lately(although I will be back to do my annual fall TV survivor, of course), so I haven't done any recruiting in ages myself.

I have participated in this game on-and-off, and only became truly interested when the eliminations began to draw closer to an end. I don't mind at all if I am not allowed to vote in the final rounds, but please know that no one "recruited" me or persuaded me in any form whatsoever. Furthermore, I am certainly not anyone's duplicate account! I simply happened to know other members of the UltimateDisney forum before signing on myself. I joined the forums after seeing screenshots from Cinderella III. The members I knew beforehand have not participated in this game at all, at least not recently and not to my knowledge.

Again, it does not matter to me whether I am allowed to participate in the movie elimination or not. What does concern me is just the thought of being mistrusted.

I was never "recruited", and I hardly ever visit Polls & Games, but when I randomly decided to visit the latest thread and saw who was left in that particular round of Survivor, I figured, "what the hey, let's see if anyone would notice one more vote for Cars to get the boot!". :P If it and other votes have been that much trouble, then I'll just discard my vote. (well, it's been discarded anyway, but I'll just say "Hah! I'm traveling back in time to before it's discarded and discarding it myself!" ;) )
